so, post 'em, and maybe get help.

me, my problem is with

Prodigy - Girls (Rex the Dog Remix)

very nice electro. i have quite a few ways of rbinging it in that are conventional, or fun, or somewhat unusual, but the transition out is always so awkward for me. i can't seem to pick the track to mix out of it nicely. any suggestions?

I've got the same problem with that track.
Here's some others that I have trouble with
Santos - Try to Burn
Nathan Fake - The Sky was Pink (just the way the track is throws me off, but an awesome tune none the less)

after The Sky Was Pink, try:

Alter Ego - Daktari
Alter Ego - Vincent van Dance
John Tejada - Sweat (On the Walls)
Ricardo Villalobos - Easy Lee (Smith 'n Hack Remix)
Ellen Allien - Astral EP (any of the tracks in it)
Run Stop Restore - Geometry (any of the tracks in it)

those might prove comfy for it.

dude that's the best track to mix ever. it's so minimal it just fits right ontop of whatever you are playing. i've been transitioning chab - closer to me into the sky was pink, then the new benz & md bt - remember remix. sounds awesome both incoming and outgoing

Posted by Boomer187 on Apr-02-2005 18:26:

burma - lo step (sasha remix), took me a while, but now I ahve it down.

Audio Bullys - Shot You Down (Lee Cabrera's Low East Side Mix)

aka

Audio Bootys - Bang Bang (Lee Cabrera Remix)

its a fuckin killer to mix so many different noises, beats, breaks, etc.
it is a fuckin excellent track though

Nice tracks, I found one though. Just happened to be the one combo I haven't tried yet lol

The Sky Was Pink into Phonetic - Can You Dance?

For some reason it just aint sound right when ever i mix it in with the out going track, must only sound good with certain songs, but my mixing with it needs improvement. timeing with this track is essential!

I find that the intro isn't very long in Yellow Moon so you would have to really mix into the outgoing track fast. I have no idea as I don't play the original very often.

Posted by mzvirbulis on Apr-03-2005 01:30:

Yeah i also have that conception to mix it in more quicker as it does have a short intro and also quiet at the start with only not much going on!
you can only experiment,
and i have mixed it in quick most of the time it's the best bet.

thanks for the reply!

freefall - skydive (original mix)

anthony pappa & loafer should be slapped silly for the construction of this track

Posted by cryo on Apr-03-2005 18:53:

soul tan - how long (steve porter mix)

sick track but the intro doesnt have enough kick to hear it well

Posted by Inertia on Apr-05-2005 01:56:

The Sky Was Pink into Chemical Bros. - Electronic Battle Weapon 7 (Acid Children) is also a good combo.

Posted by razzi on Apr-05-2005 02:56:

flaming june was never good to me when i first started mixing it. the agony i had while trying will forever be ingrained into my head... plus that was when i first started out mixing, so it definitely wasnt pretty.

razzi.

One of my fav tracks of all time , and I can never work it in:

Beat Pusher - Saving Grace (Vocal Mix)

Posted by webbie on Apr-05-2005 14:31:

One track that i love but hate to mix is Orbital - Belfast (Sasha v The Light Remix) because it starts to slooow down and comes to a halt
in the end which the first time presented a really funny trainwreck that i just couldnt fix.

Paul Johnson - Noise is also strange because of the breaks of the main beat in the beginning that makes it a tad difficult in making a
smooth transition.

you two solved each others problem a bit, prodigy - girls (rex the dog remix) does work into santos - try to burn

and as to mixing out of santos - try to burn?
try export audio - stay (chili for chicken remix).
works great for me, though it chills the set down a bit

enjoy

Posted by Psy-T on Apr-05-2005 15:41:

and as for adding a question.. what track works good before donnacha costello - olive?

Posted by sw1 on Apr-05-2005 22:41:

Robert Miles - Children

Long, beatless intro. If you miss that last break, then you gotta play it out to the cold ending.

Posted by Inertia on Apr-06-2005 00:26:

try

Deadbeat vs. Stephen Beaupre - Who Says
Deadbeat vs. Stephen Beaupre - Spinout

hell, the entire Deadbeat vs. Stephen Beaupre release works great with anything.

try some of the Run Stop Restore - Geometry EP as well.

Posted by placebo on Apr-06-2005 03:47:

Dieselboy - Render

I can NEVER get that one to mix right unless I play it as a breaks track at 33rpm.

=(

I second that.

Also Push strangeworld and Southern Sun

Posted by zyx4321 on Apr-13-2005 08:23:

and nobody remember THE AGE OF LOVE - THE AGE OF LOVE (JAM AND SPOON REMIX)

the intro was just bass

Posted by eyeball_2003 on Apr-13-2005 10:20:

the worst track to mix ever is fatkid - southern sun 2004 it sounds so shit to mix its unbelievable!
also i have mmdc - no more rain (thomas datt remix) and for the life of me i cant beatmatch it, thinks its a bad pressing? cos i can match all my other vinyl fine
