the forums have been run fine up to now, and tbh I cant see the admin +mods going down a more zero tollerance line.

lol, come down. Neo said if I have any suggestions, I should post them... All I'm doing is posting suggestions you troll!

as arbiter said earlier, care to elaborate on why you want these rules implemented?

you have yet to provide a reason for any of your suggestions, and as such they are "not sensible". so dont expect anyoen to seriously consider any of these suggestions till you provide reason.

granted, you did provide one reason for more censorship in general - to make the site more accessible for children of various ages.
if i remember right though, you need to admit to being at least 13 years of age in order to register in this forum in the first place, which renders the aim of the censorship futile.

all in all....

You is not the same as "you all", or is it? I hope you'll never be a mod if you can't even listen to noobs whininigs.

Jesus, half the 'bad' threads are nothing like some of the shit we have to deal with at times, If you can't handle it already, probably not a good idea to carry on cos i've seen much much worse in my time here

wow, i hope you'd never be a moderator anywhere if you direct comments to particular members of a thread by saying "you all"

all tends to imply everyone.

first of all computer based forums are alot better tempered than general forums. i am a member on PC general, and overclocking forum, and the whole forum so VERY friendly, i hardly ever see flame wars or anthing, so for a start ur forum is easier to handle right from the outset.

your forum tackles one issue, games, and smaller sub issues around in the gaming world. here we tackle everything from music, games, political, the works, so the broadness of peoples opinions is 10x urs, therefore, 10x the clash of opinions.

and no offense but a "newbie bin" is not very friendly is it. lets welcome new people to the forum by putting them in a dustbin. nice one.

and how many moderators do u have on ur forum? do members of xbox / moderators = members per mod. then do the same here. i bet ur totals are alot different.

All I have to say is: wow.

People! All I just posted are things that would be better, all at the first glance! I did say I'm a newbie here, so you should treat me like one. I don't want ANYTHING from you. I started not knowing what COR is, now I know, thank you to all who enlightened me. If I post something stupid, you should tell me what you think, why is it wrong, instead of posting "This is so fucking rediciolous", "This thread doesn't make sense", "Absolute lame suggestions". And you are fucking telling me to ELABORATE? You elaborate first before flaming someone.

Posted by UWM on Apr-01-2005 21:20:

It's obvious you're just trying to wind me up, so I'm not going to satisfy you with any sort of response.

Posted by Coup on Apr-01-2005 21:21:

you seem like an acute person, but do u really think u should join a forum and with 5 minutes try and tell people how to run it ?

if my replies in this thread (and especially the first one) are your idea of flames, you've probably been excessively moderated through out your entire life.

Posted by Krogen on Apr-01-2005 21:25:

God damn it. Now it's me vs. mount olympus.

Posted by Coup on Apr-01-2005 21:26:

i think you've said what u had to say, and ur responses arnt going to get any more pleasent than they are now, id take absense of this thread if i was you.

Posted by Swamper on Apr-01-2005 21:46:

lol... There are very few words in the swear filter here, and fuck me if I made fuck one of them.

By placing newbs in their own forum (with a 50 post minimum) all you're doing is promoting the posting of trash so that ppl can get to the sections that they really want to participate in.

Further, excessive rules will KILL any forum - mods and admins should be transparent until the line gets crossed - life is already so full of restrictions - ironic that everyone talks about 'freedom' - that is, until an opposing viewpoint comes up and then the mods should be censoring and editing posts. Bullshit.

I've been on online communities for close to 20 years (ya, that's a long time) ... and reading books like Rheingold's 'Virtual Community' opened my eyes to things long before this site existed. Is this place perfect? No - lots of things need improvement - but - heavy-handed modship is not the way to go about doing things.

Posted by Vivid Boy on Apr-01-2005 22:05:

what we need is a crazy beer drinking mod thatll cross the lines and bann ppl for not crossing them. give me the power
