Staying on topic, and coming from a straight guy, if your friend is straight then he will find this letter to be VERY AWKWARD, and this could even hurt your friendship. If he's also a closet, then you may have a chance, but it's very slim. Is the risk worth it? I guess it comes down to how well you really know your friend.
