Im glad most of you guys agree with me (especially about B&J). The only version I have heard of Around You was played on the Essential Mix and it kicks the crap out of anything I have heard recently.

Posted by PersianMafia on Apr-02-2005 21:32:

IMO, B&J and G&D can both be regarded equally as cheese. But then again, it all depends on your perspective of cheese. I personally, like them both and don't regard them as cheese. As for productions, B&J are more quantity, while G&D are more quality. That's plain and simple. The few tracks and remixes that G&D have done have outdone almost all B&J songs. Maybe except Cream, cause that's IMO a trance classic.

I love ''Before We Fade Away''! also looking forward to ''imagination'' and ''Deep Breath Love'' to be released!!

I agree man ..well put

Posted by kr00t0n on Apr-02-2005 23:56:

B&J only decent track as already mentioned was cream, and even then it was the PvD mix that stood out.

DIdn't mind their remix of Lizard, but Nightfly is some of the cheesiest tosh I have ever heard.

also, Around You/Before We Fade Away ROCKS!!!

DJ Riddler from WKTU has been playing "Around You" in his nightly mixes.

You know what's a nightmare? A Forest or whatever that B&J song is called. I mean is that. Even the video is creepy.

As for the new Motorcycle track, I'll check it out. I'm sure I'll get sick of it just like ATRC.

Posted by stamper on Apr-03-2005 12:26:

Is it just me or is their new song 10x more commercial than ATRC??? IT just sounds like the only reason it was made was for radio play. Anyone else agree?

Yeah.. before we fade away.. I really like the track.

Posted by yaman on Apr-03-2005 14:19:

My opinion:

ATRC > Around You

Posted by MadMats on Apr-03-2005 14:33:

guys if you have heard this tune on ASOT or in an other Armin set or something, its not the same version as Gabriel & Dresden and Tisto have.. the beginning is basically the same but after the build up (where the most incredible takeoff ive ever heard in a trance track begins) the whole lead and everything is replaced with something very very aweful

absolutely agree...
It is trying to reach ATRC's success but it fails sounds like an MTV song even my cousin loves it...
meh

another horrible production from G&D

IMO

Posted by Matt on Apr-03-2005 16:51:

don't understand how people can cell the track "more commercial" for G&D. It sounds quite different from ATRC... a lot trancier. And u know what? It's an awesome trance tune.

I want to hear the other version again tho. The one I heard @ WEMF that reminded me of Underworld - Moaner.

Well at a party mid March, Guy Ornadel dropped the same mix as the one in the Innercity rip that's been flaoting about, and it rocks, so I hopes its the one to be released

I'm in a fucking MOOD, And Jaspa & Piet are going to be my source for Venting.

As much as I respect them for their previous work..

After hearing the RIPJOB they pulled on 'Monument', I'm calling into question their entire production Process and Ethic.

SOLID MY ASS. 'Monument' exists thanks to 'Breakz from the Nu-Skool'. You would think they would have the common sense to cover up rhythm patterns that have been used ad nauseum by pretty much ANY producer in the last year.. But they didn't. At least Edit the shit, filter it tweak it.. Something. Anything.

But No.

If you're a true fan, you'll know about what I'm talking about, I'm reffering to the shit they pulled w/ 'What you Need' and 'City of Angels'.

If Nettwerk ever decides to drop the hammer, it's Game fucking Over.

why does my work always end up in a flame war with blank and jones? i would imagine that what we do is a whole world away from what they do. it's like debating the finer points of deep dish vs armin...

we make music, it somtimes sounds like house, sometimes techno, sometimes trance, sometimes all of them. not everyone is gonna like us. the ones that do "get it"

Hey, Dave.

I wasn't meaning to pit yours & Josh's (Or Jes', for that matter) against Blank & Jones', I think people are just using the comparison because ATRC was a HUGE commercial success.. Once you're put in the public arena, it's a free-for-all.

You're totally right, I don't think what you guys do is anywhere near what B&J do style-wise. I never even thought of it on that level..

Cheers, hope this clears it up.

diggin the Around You aka Before We Fade Away
sounds good so far. wonder how the final version will sound like.

OK. So anyone who thinks the B&J are better than G&B need to stop listening to EDM. Gabriel and Dresden are some of the moest talented producers EVER. Tell me when Blank and Jones comes out with a track that is the best track of th year or makes the top 1000. G&B..keep up the great stuff. Around you is purely amazing. When will it be released? I heard it live on Thursday when I saw Armin. The crowd responded better to that track than any of the other tracks. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
