TranceReality how have you gotten ahold of a TI when it's not released yet?

Anyway yeah it seems awesome, especially since it's much more integrated with software than normal synths. Actually I think that is the biggest new thing about it, not the hypersaw but the vsti integration as you can have the cake and eat it too, get the sound of hardware with the convenience of software

But it's hella expensive :/

I would like one just to have one since its a new style synth but im holding my self back since i haven't lost any inspiration from my
Virus C and jp8080

The hypersaw in combination with over 80 voices is imo one of the biggest thing of the Virus TI. To create a supersaw Pad for example, on other virus versions you have to use the unison which consumes all the voices of the virus if you strike a chord. With the Virus TI, you can dail in 9 saws per osc so you don't need to use the unison for a nice supersaw PAD. So you have alot more voices aviable. I don't own a virus TI but i think you can actually use all the 16 tracks from the virus Ti without reaching the voice limit.

TranceReality: i heard from other people that you can dail from 1 towards 9 saws per osc. Is that thrue? ( if so than the virus also has a supersaw osc )

Can you post that mp3 you made with P8?
And the preset? Have logic 5.5.1

Posted by hardikaveri on Apr-06-2005 10:34:

i'm also intrested of that preset after that comment

Here's his mp3 (upper) and a little remix I made (lower), haha, quick...not good sounding...of his P8 patch. I made it and was super tired so I ignored the muddiness and everything bad in between. His sounds better than mine.

Ask him permission and I'll send it to you if he says yes. He sent it to me so I could check it out and play with it but still, it's his, not mine, hehe.

Very very good indeed. So Superwave helped with that eh

Posted by RiCo on Apr-06-2005 16:19:

Superwave can sound shitty too, hehe. I never like what I make, but since he made the melody and the patch, I actually like a little how mine came off.

Posted by TranceReality on Apr-06-2005 16:38:

Nice mp3 rico !!

Sure you can post the .fxb, but please dont post the cubase file.

Posted by RiCo on Apr-06-2005 16:44:

Thanks...glad you liked it, hehe. And yeah, I'll send him just the .fxb tonight.

TranceReality could you please answer how you've been able to get a Ti before its release? Is it like a beta version or something, are you doing a review of it? Because if I understand correctly they are still working on the software and the patches etc.

No im not doing a review, and yes they probably are still working on the software etc.... but I believe that is why you can download updates when they are available, surley you should know this etry, being an employee of propellerheads an all !!!

I got my Ti in the UK from HERE

Posted by Erty on Apr-06-2005 18:26:

lol why would you think I'm a propellerheads employee?

Anyway cool, I guessed they have started to ship some of them then
Do some sound demos please

They have NOT done any work on the sound engine except for giving a dithering option when exporting. This is straight from a propellerheads employee.

Thats why...I would have imagined that employee was you seen as tho you posted it in the "reason 3.0" section, I dont know what version of reason you use mate, but v3.0 has improved in sound quality...unless of course my ears are lying to me

Sorry for going off topic peeps.

Posted by Erty on Apr-06-2005 19:32:

Nah I ment that a employee said that, not that I was one, and yes your ears are lying or you're just fooling yourself.

"Just to make sure I asked Tage directly and got info on everything except the dithering algorithm, he will get back with details on that later.
Here's the Q&A translated from Swedish:

Q: You have not revamped the resampling algorithm, it is exactly as before, correct?
A: Correct, same as before.

Q: You have fixed the nominal pitch bug so that no resampling is performed on samples played back with no pitch change, correct?
A: Yes, this was fixed.

Q: The fix in question was more of an academic issue than an audible improvement, correct?
A: Correct indeed. It was fixed because it was a bug - and like any bug, we want to fix it - not because it had any bearing on sound quality.

Q: You have perfected the precision of sample triggering, to ensure that no phasing effects may occur when two time related samples (such as a snare drum and a separate mic leakage sampling) are triggered simultaneously, correct?
A: Correct. At the expense of a very minor increase in buffer load, samples are now guaranteed to play back in phase.

Q: The timing fix only affects the samplers (NN19/NN-XT/Dr.REX/Redrum), and has nothing to do with Subtractor, Malstrm or any of the signal processing devices, correct?
A: Correct."

From a freelance propellerheads guy on reasonstation. But well there is always the option to turn off dithering now which may cause the difference you are talking about.
Sorry for even more OT hehe :E

The original Waldorf Q Yellow was released before its software had been finished by developers (in fact, Q had a lot of crashes and stuff missing). It was a bad advertisement for Waldorf company. I think Access wouldn't like to make the same mistake. I tried to buy a Virus TI but I cannot get one yet. I don't know if they are already to be selled on USA and European market, but I guess not.
But talking about the TI's engine, of course, Hipersaw will be overused on trance exactly like supersaw was overused to make rank-1 style. But, there is something powerful about this baby that few guys are thinking: wavetables synthesis! There are some ex-employees from Waldorf working at Acccess and they developed the wavetables engine for TI. It will be possible to mix analog model and wavetable together, and that will be amazing. Wavetable synthesis allows come up with a lot of sounds, since atmospheric/ambient pads till plucked leads like PVD/AVB. And better, wavetables isn't so overused like supersaw (JP80x0) and other commom machines for trance (Supernova2 and conventional Virus). I have a Waldorf Microwave XT and I know this machine rocks! Besides that, there is the VST integration and large amount of polyphony, so, in my opinion TI will keep on the better VA on the market. But it seems CLAVIA will release something soon (go to the Clavia's website...).

TranceReality, that's a really nice sample! Is there any way I could get that Cubase file? I'd love to pick it apart

Thanks!

im intrested in the fxb and how exactly you were able to get rid of the phasing issue that all the suuperwave plugins are plagued with.

Those are both really good. I'm dying to hear what they would sound like with some bass.

Here's TranceReality's Superwave P8 patch.

http://oobe.myftp.org/TranceRealitypatch.rar

I cannot host the .cpr since TranceReality owns it and will use it.

Posted by sonic_akb on Apr-06-2005 23:55:

Rico, do you still have your Prophecy? I bought my Prophecy 1 month ago and I remenber I listened a great patch from Prophecy that you made. Do you have some bank (made by you) for it? And would you like to share it?
I'm sending the Prophecy's out through the Supernova2 and setting the distortion fx to the maximum value hehehe

Thanks for your Superwave P8 patch, however I don't know nothing about this software
