Let me begin by saying NO NIGHTCLUB IS PERFECT. There are bound to be knuckleheads, meatheads, morons, etc, that take away from the vibe of every nightclub. That's just how it goes. Don't complain so much! Come out, hear the music, do a wiggle, and make the best out it.

Oh sweet, Eddie Lee, you're the only thing that made the first hour or so of my night good when I went to see Jules at Avalon, because he sucked... but I tip my hat to you.

Oh and no, sorry, I won't come out and hear the music and do a wiggle, because there is no room to wiggle, it's too hot to wiggle, and my ears hurt so much I wanna put a corkscrew in my eardrum and turn it clockwise veerrryyy slowly. It's hard to enjoy even the best DJ's when the club sucks as much as Avalon does.

- Why do they put VIP-bracelets on *everyone* at the door? And why were *nobody* checked when entereing the VIP-area? Some kind of complementary ego-boosting service???

I beleive those are actually 21+ bracelets. No?

He looked appraisingly at me, and then, with no further discussion, nodded knowingly and handed me a "reduced"-ticket. Why would a great wizard of such awesome clairvoyant powers choose to work for a joint like Avalon?

Totally with you on that one. Now try to get in from Spider Club entrence there you will find the wizard of all that will hypnotize you with questions about how you found out about the guestlist, how you know the promoter, what does he looks like, how long you know him, etc...Honestly I think hosts in NYC suck. ALL OF THEM!!!

I swear to God, about 30-40% of the dancefloor was filled with people who were either smoking, making out, chatting, staring, or (worst) sleeping. What's the matter with such people?

Oh GOD this is a problem EVERYWHERE...IN THE UNITED STATES!!!! Personally I blame bad drugs. But thats me.

See above (closely related). Smaller spaces more people rubbing on you. Also gives a chance to little boys touch some boobies and some booties.

Question of all times. In fact WHY WOULD ANYONE GO TO A NIGHTCLUB TO PICK UP???

See comment about drugs...Furthermore if the lightning system in a club is too much for your eyes consider switching the hobby. I beleive that in a place as dark as a nightclub you actually stress your eyes more by wearing sunglasses.

I really dont recall Avalon being so hot inside. But then again I was never there for Tiesto...Summer time though management should really address this comments since it CAN lead to more serious problems such as fires.

No they are not dangerous however you WILL step away if you dont want to get smacked on the head with it. Although I did notice that the quality of raving significantly declined in recent years. Tennaglia's war on glowsticks actually paid off. Funny fact Non-US djs actually LOVE US glowstick ravers...I read sometime ago in Mixmag that one big name-dj (forgot who) actually never seen anything like that on his gigs.

Ahh the infemous "crowd surfers." Apparently we are not the only country that suffers from this plague. See comments about drugs above the reason behind crowd srufers. AND BTW LADIES THIS IS FOR YOU...YOU ARE MUCH MORE RUDE THAN ANY MEATHEAD when u push through the crowd.

I never could understand why some of the best DJs out there are so fucking scared to use a rotary mixer.

I think you were too to notice the system at sasha. Cause it was off then too..

Ah - would explain it, yes. I guess the "VIP" on them would mean something like "Venue-Intoxicated Person" or "Vritten to Induce Perplexion"...
