None of whom remixed U2. Great argument there.

I'm pretty sure he's making the point that remixing famous artists gets their name out for exmaple that new remix of This Is The Last Time by Keane and the Adam Freeland remixes of Nirvana and The White Stripes, and the remixes of The Killers by umm, thingy.

I know he is, but that's an even worse argument, for two reasons:

1. Mylo is already much more popular than any of those remixers.

2. Those remixes haven't made or broke anyone's career.

Andski: like DJ_GtR said, it is your opinion dude, but keep in mind there's a reason why this band is the most important band in the world right now for many many reasons. There's also a reason why they've kept releasing stuff for the last 25 years, and none of their albums have sold less than 8-9 million copies each.

But yeah, I guess no one gets the point of how non-special this band is. All of us who've bought their records throughout all these years must be wrong and have no taste in music...I guess.

Don't forget the fact that Bono was concidered for the leader of the world bank or whatever it was... (i know its nothing to do with music, but its quite an accomplishment for a musical artist)

well i mean...maybe he doesn't think he could do a good U2 remix...you have to remix tracks that you think fit your style...

i don't think its any kind of insult to U2...

Well... a climb of 5 places over the course a year isn't "making" a career, it's just an increase in popularity. In addition, that still doesn't prove that Adam Freeland is anywhere near as popular as Mylo.

Keep telling your self that...

But I would be supprised if 10% of TA could id a mylo track.

To be a rock band in the Rock & Roll hall of fame, and be a political figure says alot.

I doubt that 10% could ID a Freeland track. Mylo gets played on MTV and the national radio, has a top 20 album and several hit singles. In a year of proper Sony marketing his popularity will rise a lot more than Freeland going up five places on a chart most people don't care about.

LOL

This thread is very funny.

Posted by Psiweaver on Apr-12-2005 20:17:

Ya umm U2 is one of the most important bands from the past 25 years bar none and most of there music does have political implications. Just because you don't like it because its rock doesn't mean it isn't important and or hasn't had a major cultural impact now turning down a remix for someone of that caliber isn't usually a good idea because by being assoiciated with someone like that it in turn enhances your own reputation giving you more oppurtunities etc.

people don't care about the chart, because its a popularity contest. The tracks were not made last year, so the +5 does not matter.
