besides techno rocks!

repetitive techno? it is all pretty much looped as is most edm!

i know what you mean by repetitive but you got to appriciate it, but it is pretty cool as techno is great percussion instrumental type music which dance needs too revolve around also.
also thats why they do 3 deck mixes for like techno, i heard oliver lieb and he was like mixing a song in every 2 mins.

trance/techno go pretty well.

but really it depends what techno songs you like to play, i never get bored of techno but some may?

Posted by mzvirbulis on Apr-28-2005 09:59:

ooh Speedy J rocks and also alot of his new collabarations!

Posted by mzvirbulis on Apr-28-2005 10:03:

maybe you should listen to more tech trance.

Posted by chesco on Apr-28-2005 10:39:

Technasia
taksi
tony rohr
jesper dahlback
vitalic - more electro, but his tunes certainly work in a techno set
michael forzza
david carreta
literon
gabriel ananda
einmusik
alter ego
michael mayer
voigt & voigt
leandro gamez
oxia

Posted by AlphaStarred on Apr-28-2005 14:51:

^^ most of those are minimal or tech-house, but surely some talented artists nevertheless. Technasia def. dishes out some wicked stuff like Evergreen I, Hydra, Final Quadrant, and Acid Storm.

I'd hardly call any of these artists minimal techno producers.

Sure the brothers voigt produce minimal techno, but their straight up techno is just as good.

gabriel ananda's album is pretty good, a mixture of all times of techno.

Well, virtually everything the brothers collaborated on is tech-house and some minimal, and virtually everything Reinhard Voigt has done is tech-house and minimal. When it comes to Mike, though, i do prefer his straight up tech and acid stuff and have a few vinyl of his.

Posted by chesco on Apr-28-2005 16:50:

Have a listen to some of these tunes then tell me they didn't produce techno

when did i ever say they don't produce techno?

this sounds pretty much like you saying they never produced techno!!

Maybe I've misunderstood.

You have. First of all, i said "virtually," secondly, i said "collaborated," and thirdly, tech-house and minimal are momentous constituents of techno. I regard everything they do as techno, be it tech-housey or minimalistic. Furthermore, i played some of those samples from the link you provided, and i stand corrected to the notion that virtually everything Reinhard has done is tech-house and minimal.

Furthermore, the fact that Marco Carolla, who plays abundant tech-house and some minimal nowadays, bored Blue., i doubt he'll take a liking to most of Voigt & Voigt's stuff...

Posted by chesco on Apr-28-2005 20:17:

You've completely missed the point I made by presenting you with that link.

If you listen to some of their tunes, then surely you'd hear that only a few of their tunes could be classed as tech-house or minimal.

There are a load of fairly pumping and melodic techno tracks on that site, which are NOT repetitive and correct me if I'm wrong, is that not what blue was looking for.

Posted by verminator on Apr-28-2005 21:23:

blue: just kick?????

i'd almost say it's a disgrace to the techno genre to label that track as 'techno'. it's in the category of the worst tracks of all time hehe

anyways, taste is a matter of opinion..

Posted by PHALPAX on Apr-28-2005 21:34:

verminator is 100% right. there is such as a thing of "taste". BUT!! Your opinion is your own taste. Like if i told AlphaStarred "to go downtown and buy sum taste" would be wrong...

He likes that type of techno but i prefer trance but it does not mean that i hav no taste for techno bcuz i still do like sum techno. Hence the fact that trance is a branch off of techno, so if u r saying you do not like techno but trance then yur saying u don't like trance neither.

No. I don't listen to Liebing, nor do i give two shits about what he produces or his collaborations, so you may as well enlighten us.

Alot of Liebing's work defines: Bangin'

DK - Murder Was The Bass (Reworked)

my type of techno

Posted by Kinuvan on Apr-29-2005 12:28:

you clearly do not understand techno. It's not about individual tunes, it's about the mix. Trance djs cannot play 3 tracks at a time even if they wanted to, good techno djs can do 4, and the best ones have 3 in near enough all the time.

Techno isn't really more repetitive than other forms of EDM, but it is a lot more subtle and if you're used to big riffs and breakdowns then it's gonna take you a while to get it.

Intec sort of has a nose for shitty techno.

Anyway, methinks that you should dive more into the Detroit subgenre when you want to have some less repetitive techno.

I agree.

"DJJunior - 09-Sep-03 04:47 AM
Intec is one of the best techno labels on the planet. Releases vary from deep to outright funky grooves, which is good for DJ's with varied taste."

I should post a comment for the label just to gainsay his bullshit.

answer?! you can't stump me when i couldn't care less for Liebing. You may just as well keep it to yourself then and keep listening to his stuff.

here's a question for the trance head: name one of the best acid trance tunes that Thomas P. Heckmann has worked on and don't say Amphetamine.

you have 1 minute, otherwise it's quite lucid that you're taking recourse to discogs.

edit: looks like the trance head is mired.

No, you cannot. Those tracks are either hard trance or acid techno, whilst i mentioned simply acid trance. Further, i asked you to list a track that he worked on, meaning it wasn't solely him, meaning it wasn't under his Drax moniker. But never you mind that, since you cannot answer me anyway.

And for the records, im not a 'techno head' either.
