DuMonde, Cosmic Gate, Alphazone, DJ Wag, Flutlicht, SHOKK, Phil Green, Dave 202, Yoji Biomehanika, Scot Project/Arome, Hennes & Cold, Kai Tracid, Warmduscher/Frank Ellrich, Marc la Cruz, Ace da Brain, Dave Joy, Organ Donors, K90, Kamui, Ralph Novell, Dark By Design....

So many good hardtrance. And for what I've heared, 2005 is gonna be a better hardtranceyear than 2004

Tracks like 'Flora' and 'Fauna' from Marcel Woods & Jesselyn are indeed class. Jesselyn is also a very promising Dutch hardtrance dj.

Tracks for me at this moment are:

Ralph Novell - Hurricane
DuMonde vs. Judge Jules - What's in your head
Technikal presents Pierre Pienaar - Global Panic
Bas & Ram - Alien Threat
Tommy Pulse feat Svyat Sterligo - Sweet Sin
Tommy Pulse vs. Anne Savage - Calling God
Callisto - Ways (Geoffrey Whiteman rmx)
Future Tribes - Zero Hour
Immortal Monkeys - Black Nightmare
Sonar Systems - Sonar Systems
Adam Sheridan - Lektrik (Inside Out rmx)
Twilight - Far Beyond

Speaking of Organ Donors, does anyone remember that sample they ran around the net a few months ago about a new collaboration with someone?
Anyone know what happened to that? I've been waiting for ages for news.

Phil Reynolds
Lee Haslam
Guyver
K90
BK
Organ Donars

All top class. Most of that crappy European stuff isn't real hard trance. DuMonde, Cosmic Gate, Nu NRG and the like.

Don't know if it is considered hard trance but The Freak pres EXO - Above the clouds (Mark Norman mix)is pretty good.

Also, when it comes to harder stuff I've been liking these songs...
1.Pervading Call - No time to rest
2. 64Bit - Virtual Discotech (Cosmic Gate mix)
3 red flag - pacific (something ???? i forget) Vorne & Savietto mix

No. They're all UK hard trance (BK and Organ Donars do all kinds of styles though). UK hard trance is real hard trance. It's actually hard, rather than the stupid "epic trance, but slightly faster and with more bass so the kids feel tough listening to it" European hard trance.

Posted by Ygrene on Apr-29-2005 15:00:

I agree that there are varying styles of hardtrance but, I think whether any of them is crap or not is a matter of opinion.

Posted by nwopper on Apr-29-2005 16:04:

You know the UK is also part of Europe.... In Holland we call the UK hardtrance sound, UK Hardhouse or harddance. But we're bad genrewhores....

I think the UK holds various of good producers (Gaz West/DbD, Organ Donors, Guyver, K90) but for me the German sound has my preference.

Just ordered 'What's In Your Head' yesterday....it will fit nicely in my record box right next to 'Blue Monday'.

They are a good combination, yeah!

Funnily enough, they all refer to their sound as Hard Dance now

And Scot P is harder than any of those by far, and I used to be a huge Hard House/Trance fan back in 2000/2001

They're UK Hard Trance aka UK Hard Dance aka UK Hard House aka Hard Dance aka...

I recognize them as a separate genre to plain old Hard Trance.

Who is this Scot P, as I can't find any mention of him? You don't mean Scot Project?

That's probably who he's refering to.

If so, he's having a laugh. Scot Project isn't anywhere near as hard as any of those.

Posted by nwopper on Apr-30-2005 15:33:

I concider Dark by Design and the Organ Donors harder than Scot Project too. And they own Scot Project both (he played such a shitty set during In Qontrol this year, brought tears to my eyes). But the 3rd of June SHOKK, Nuw Idol, Proteus and Tom Harding are coming to our country for a party, hell yeah I'll be there

In record shops that don't have 100 different sub-sections for dance music they will be in the 'Hard Trance' section.

The term 'Hard Dance' is becoming more widely used, but it's mean't as a collective term for all harder styles of dance music.

Rob Tissera
Uberdruck
Phil York

Proteus is a damn hard DJ. As for producers I would say that Mark Norman, Sam Sharp, and Ron van den Beuken have hard edges to them but keep melody in mind Top producers IMO.
