Most establishments work on the calendar day which they open as being the date they honor. So my guess is they will not let you in if you turn 21 at midnight.

Lineups rarely change like this here, this really is an isolated incident.

Excuse ME.

This is to the people who are commenting on Tijs....

First off: Tijs does not get too obsessed about the girls....he's married now!!! shiit...

Second: Of course, no one is perfect, everyone will mash up a record...even the best of us...

Thirdly: in what position are you to talk shit about someone who is setting an example for the next generation of ppl in the club culture? I don't know if you ahve noticed, but this guy has achieved a lot more than your mouthing off.

Fourthly: he HAS to evolve in order to feed the need of the mainstream... in doing so, he creates his own specific unique style to draw the crowd into his more underground sets..... HA

Fifthly: RESPECT to this man. What has he done to you? made you cry of jealousy?

Sixthly: this list can go on and on but be glad the club scene is becoming more global than ever, EVER. Thanks to a handful of DJ's like Tiesto.

Yep dude, no man would ever cheat on his wife... (Not saying he has, just pointing out the fallacy in this TiT's logic)

Now and then OK, but he's the #1 DJ in the world, and for that ranking, I feel he should live at a stricter level of scrutiny... there are a TON of more technically talented DJ's in the world than Tijs...

Tiesto represents the last generation, not the next...

I don't feel I need to address this... flamers, go for it...

So the only reason I should respect him is because he hasn't done anything to me? Well, dude if that's your argument there are a lot of terrible people I should have respect for.

Maybe the one point I can give to you, but it's definitely not just Tiesto's work...

Did I miss anything?

what i want to know is... why are you taking our opinions of Tiesto so personally? does it hurt you to witness the majority of people making fun of your #1 DJ?

Well, you'll at least MISS Armin...

Silver Lining: You'll at least have the $40 you would have blown on Tiesto to go see some other real solid DJ's this summer, of the listed events, I'd recommend:

6.10: Sasha, Steve Porter @ Soundbar
7.8: James Zabiela @ Soundbar
7.15: Nick Warren @ Soundbar
7.30: Kaskade @ Smartbar

...

I think you are looking at this too negatively. Sure you are missing some shows you want to see this summer but it is all about your first full semester being 21.

My first full semester of being 21 (which happened to be last fall) was a blast. So much drunkenness. So much exploring to find out which bars are for me.

Plus there will always be other shows and unless the US becomes an isolated part of the globe I am sure Tiesto and Armin will be back.

Since I've been following this guy before he even played @ Trance Energy, yes a party you Americans prolly never even heard of... and I believe you do not know the significance of this guy becoming real... first saw him @ sensation in 2000.... blew the world away by storm man... if you just ignored the statement he has been nominated nr. #1 then maybe you can also enjoy his sounds... you prolly heard sets on the internet with the MC trying to market Tiesto for this... Tijs does not CARE whether he's number 1 or number 100... he just wants to give the world a piece of his love of dance music.

Posted by _Nut_ on May-05-2005 01:44:

Give it up. You keep calling him Tijs like you know him. Its like calling a Dr. by their first name. And if you think that "us americans" have never heard of trance energy or sensation, get a fucking clue.

Edit

To add insult to injury, you've been following him since you were 14? Born in August of 85? I find that as credible as someone enjoying the smell of their own poop. You probably downloaded the set and claimed to have been an avid follower since.

LOL...

Looks like its time to find the TE 2003 and 2004 photos somewhere on my old hard drive...

In any event, Spliph, you're posting on a board at TRANCE ADDICT.com, we are ADDICTED to trance music, get it? So even though we "americans" are in the midwest, some of us have been on an airplane before, and for those who haven't, well most of them are smart enough to follow some of their favorite DJ's, and guess what? Some of them play at festivals like TE and Sensation!!

[sarcasm]
But those sets have never been recorded and distributed via the internet, right?? I know I've certainly never heard the classic Ferry Corsten sets from Dance Valley and Trance Energy last year... They are such "underground" sets, no one has ever heard of them.[/sarcasm]

EDIT: Not being Sarcastic about Ferry... I really do love those sets...

my sarcasm

OMGOOORZ UNDERGROUND FERRY?????? Have you followed him since you were 14 too???????????

Posted by RJT on May-05-2005 02:11:

I've been following Ferry C since about 1432 CE, you know, the good old days...

Edit: And I was fucking 12 then... so top that...

Posted by _Nut_ on May-05-2005 02:13:

Ah the good days. I remember when rocks were used for beats and rustling leaves were used for a high hat effect. Man, those were the days.

I know, this one sick underground DJ, I think they call him Armin van Buuren (AvB for those of us who, you know, are like, kinda his buddies) ... [Hey, I definitely shook his hand this one time], and he used to use the sickest cowbell effect...

...

This thread = officially fun for me again...

Have you ever heard of John Digweed? (Diggers for those of us who, you know, are like, kinda his buddies).

He started the whole whistle trend. Clubbing would not be the same without it. I always bring like 3 to the club incase I get so messed up I lose one.

Posted by RJT on May-05-2005 02:34:

Well I guess I can finally thank Tiesto for something this year... thanks to an "Anti-Tiesto" thread like this, the last half hour at work has been a lot of fun, but just like so many Tiesto tracks, it just stopped feeling fresh and interesting oh so quickly... and to think, it started as a promotional thread...

It was a good run though _Nut_... at least I had fun...
