....but techno is dead too....?

I dunno, why do TA's start to declare several genres of EDM dead when in some periods bad releases are coming out and/or they don't hear anything suitable to their taste?

And second of all...I really don't know one single fuck about techno.

That's the point of the discussion.. I didnt declare it as a dead.. I am just asking

I have minimal knowledge of trance?

Go back to listening to Armin's crappy pseudo-trance, wanker. You clearly have no fucking idea what you're talking about.

Goddamn trancecrackers... ought to lock you all in a room and starve you to death. Despicable people.

what are you talking about man?, this is ridicoulus, techno is being made alot.

Posted by chesco on Apr-30-2005 16:51:

Really good quality techno is becoming harder to find. Imo a lot of stuff being released at the moment is becoming very formulaic and often ripped off - much like trance became - however if you look hard enough there are still artists, new and old that can produce finest quality music.

LMAO.

Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Chris Liebing, Pet Duo, Chris Liberator, Dave The Drummer, Adam Beyer, Steve Christian, Apocolypse, The Machine, Ben Simms, Mistress Barbara, are just a few to show Techno aint dead & never will die.

Posted by AlphaStarred on Apr-30-2005 17:08:

underground techno from Netlabels all the fucking way!

now, whoever disparages MP3s are doubtless benighted and can thus blow me.

Posted by auranaut on Apr-30-2005 17:12:

Dave The Drummer & Adam Beyer = Boring, completely uninspired techno. Atleast that's what it seems like to me.

Watch it, you might blow your cover. And I couldn't find a pic of the backside of the CD either, only the front.

well that's undoubtedly the case with most producers nowadays, so it's no surprise. However, some older stuff from D.A.V.E. is ridiculously amazing.

There are tons of great releases coming out for techno every week, whereas trance new releases have dwindled greatly.

Add Sims and Liebing from that list as well. Especially Sims.

So has techno, just not to such a large degree. The amount of dull, uninspired loop tracks coming out nowadays is rather depressing. Luckily, techno producers are willing to experiment a lot more than trance producers are.

The techno releases coming out never seem to dwindle down. Techno is full of loops, as is trance. Techno is designed for the Mix, 2-4 tracks all the time, whereas trance you can play the 9 minute thing, and only be in the mix 1-2 minutes of the whole song.
