-- Alcohol should be banned from clubs

I personally like to have a few drinks, while at the club. I also require a few drinks, if I'm gonna play. It may be a bad habit, but it loosens me up. People just have to learn how to moderate themselves. Fights aren't too common, here, in our clubs, but it does happen. I'm not sure that a lack of alcohol would make much difference though. It's definitely an absurd idea that clubs would stop selling alcohol though. Why? Because it's their main source of revenue, and because more people want to drink than don't. If you don't need it, good for you, but you can't impose that everyone else thinks the same way. Just keep your head straight, and avoid the drunken idiots, and you should be fine.

hehe, I dont think I agree with banning drinking, I do get kinda upset when people start thinking that the whole point of a club is drinking though. But people going crazy is just part of the fun I think.

but compulsary drinking, like everyone who come in must be legal to drink, or everyone must drink to keep the club in business, that is the stupid side of reality I guess. I just wish I could find a club that tried things a little differently from most clubs, fucking capitalism, sigh,

Sandly you people are still missing the point of Music in general. It is never about the music. It's never about the alcohol. It's never about the drugs. Its about going out and having fun with the people you like and love.

I think it is actually the repetitive nature of electronic music that causes people to become agressive, and start attempts to physically injur others, as a way to release themsleves from the stress this mindless talentless music gives them.

All forms of electronic music should be banned from north america, hopefully europe will follow.

Re: Alcohol should be banned from clubs

thats a bad thing, it exists here as well...
we organize a few trance parties in my town and we dont like drug-alchool-junkies.
personally i drink A LOT, if the dj plays tracks that i like i'm buying him a shot (plus one for me ofcourse)
i rarelly dance, i just want to listen to trance music in decent speakers (than my shitty p5800's)
i dont fight, i'm not looking for chicks, i dont care about anything
i just want to listen trance loud

Gutted. Although he did play Darkroom and Cirez D - Control Freak.

Happy.

Anyway I don't know if its a UK syndrome or if it occurs in other countries as well but the crowd drinks way too much alcohol. So many drunk people which were at the club just to show off. And there were several fights as well.

You see, this is the problem that these sort of events have. Picotto isn't a regular punter in this neck of the woods, and as he's a recognised name he's going to attract that mixed crowd; where half are there to hear the man play, the other half there because they've vaguely heard of him before. It's generally a small portion of the second group who will end up acting like ****s.

This kind of behaviour happens far less frequently at the smaller events, but as soon as someone like Picotto plays here the band of idiots will re-emerge.

In my opinion the clubbing scene would be much more joyful if the bouncers at the entrance was checking everyones alcohol halt to ensure that they don't let in people with any alcohol in the blood at all. If you want to drink go somewhere else. if you want to dance to good music you are welcome. if you can't have fun without alcohol then get a life or go somewhere else or drink afterwards.

Drastic? So many of us (yes, that's me included) enjoy a drink or twelve on a night out. It helps our little introverted nation get into the swing of things I guess... C'mon, even Mauro was drinking over the course of the night, and I didn't see him getting into any fights!

I think a better way to prevent idiots getting in would be a little questionnaire from the bouncers...

"So, who's playing tonight?"
"Mario..."
"Nope, Piu isn't here, so fuck off."

ROFL

I've been to see Picotto here before and I know the stupid chant that seems to emerge, no matter where in Scotland he's playing:

"MARIO.. MARIO.. MARIO PI.. COTTO"

He's playing June IO with Chris Lawrence and Above&Beyond (and JJ...), so I might pop along to that

maybe we need better bartenders who stop giving people drinks so that they will have a pleasant buzz instead of becoming roaring drunks

I went to this no alcohol club one time, well it was more of a warehouse across the street from a cemetary than it was a club, but they had a sign on the door and seemed to own the building.

Anyway, the place was full of like, 14-15s rolling their faces off, it was the one of damndest things I had ever seen. But apparently when there is nothing to drink the crowd only gets younger and finds different ways to get obnoxiously fucked up. Those kids really didn't understand the importance of keeping a low profile while they were high, much like how people get out of control when they are drunk.

Anyway, that club became kinda notorious for becoming a big drug-hole, and the police busted it last year and shut the place down. Apparently most of their money came from selling red bull, glowsticks and water. My parents heard about the bust, luckily they never heard that I had been there before. One day they asked me, "have you ever been to one of those non alcohol clubs where the kids are all on drugs?" and I just told them something like, "as far as I knew all the parties I've gone to sold drinks." of course I was in a lose-lose situation that day, so I chose to admit hanging out at parties where people drink over hanging out with little kids rolling their brains out.

The problem with alcohol is, the more you drink it, the less you feel it, gradually it just starts tasting like lemonade and gets easier to drink. This makes it really profitable, much more than your illegal drugs which dont always guarantee a repeat purchase. In the end, all clubs are doing is seling you the stuff you already have. Music, socialization, things that are much cheaper outside of teh club, it really isnt a big loss to just not go if you don't like it.

Even If I did I would still want to be a little fucked up, it just helps me get into the music more.

Around here there are not that many problems with fights at clubs , except for these hick ones around here where everone thinks their a badass.

i don`t care if they sell alcohol in clubs or not. i just hate those, who walks thru crowd with two beers in both hands, or those who are dancing with beers... i hate broken glass on the dancefloor... i hate wet dancefloor... if u wand to drink something -do it but near the bar or something.
