I like they bold-faced a specific request that bacon must be provided at every meal.

I'm repeating the story from memory, so I might have gotten some of the details wrong, but apparently Sasha & John Digweed were DJ'ing by a swimming pool at a private party of some sort. The owner made a tape of the set, and Sasha really liked how his set came off, so Sasha asked for a copy of the tape. However, the owner kept denying that he'd taped the set and otherwise kept stonewalling Sasha, so Sasha shoved the table holding the decks and mixer into the pool in the middle of Digweed's set.

did this picture just get released or something?

I have seen this same thread with this same picture on several message boards today, its always curious how things get passed on over teh intarweb.

didnt sasha fuck up his ear back in the day? I remember him talking about it in an interview, maybe that is why he demands control over his monitors.

He threw the decks into the pool, not Digweed.

I'm sorry, I think it's a little bit ridiculous. It says a lot about Sasha, I must say. When people won't record his set he starts throwing around decks, when his record keeps on skipping he throws them into the crowd and hurt girls with it.

And yes, the guy is one of the best dj's ever created by mankind, one that contributed to the history of EDM a lot, but....still....I think it's ridiculous.

Sasha DJs with Ableton now. So tell me why this is ridiculous? Is it because he wants the sound set up a certain way? These are all feasible requests that any self-respecting club should easily be able to fulfill.

And the incident of him flipping out and throwing a turntable in a swimming pool wasn't without provocation. And him throwing a CD into a crowd and hitting a girl in the head was an accident.

The accident with the girl, I understand. In my opinion though, there is NO reason to throw some decks into a pool over an argument. Period.

Whether or not this actually happened, is up for grabs.

i'm with you flavdave..

given that he isn't using turntables...he is gonna need things set up differently. i think its a very relaxed rider for such a big name dj. i'm sure other big names are a lot worse than that.

I bet Oakeys drug rider is more than all of Sashas equipment rider.

It was vinyl. I don't think CDs can cut through skin just like that.

EDIT: From what I could gather, that was actually one of the reasons he decided to give up vinyl for a digital medium.

Actually every account I have read said that it was a CD. And he threw it in the crowd because it was skipping. I'm sure you could cut someone with a CD. I'll get back to you on that.

Posted by WM2 on May-06-2005 20:48:

I'll throw a CD at one of my idiot workers real fast and find out.

The article said it was vinyl.

diggers wasn't even there still a crazy story

I think a CD is much to light to do any damage. Or someone has to be a really skilled disc-thrower

Better hope the Mac doesn't crash then, else he might chuck that as well.

Anyone have PVD or Tiesto's rider?
