I've never been and NEVER will go to Bali - especially now.

I'd rather spend extra $$$ and party in style and go to all the quality parties in EUROPE!!!

Another guy was caught today.

Yeah, having an event there is the worst idea ever.

terrible timing

and even despite one of the big names
who i think is playing here.. im not
interested

Seriously, and it's nothing against FE or most of the Bali citizens, but why would anyone ever go to Bali ever again?

No one should go there as a protest by the people of Australia, against shit house treatment of our citizens. (Ms Corby is only the latest).

Hit them where it hurts. No tourists, no cash flow, then the locals might get the power to change the laws from those of the fkn dark ages to something a little more in line with the rest of the world.

We help them out with millions of dollars of aid etc etc. only to have them treat our people like shit.

FE, should take the party elsewhere..... there's plenty of other places that would benefit from the cash flow of something like this.

it seems liek a horribly bad co-incidence that this
party is happening with all the latest developments
will be interesting to see how poorly this party gos.

LOLTROLL

But that's a bit harsh dude - there are ways to minimise your risk when travelling in southeast asia, but most of them are counter-intuitive to someone wanting to have a large one at an electronic music event.

Personally I think it's pretty disrespectful to travel to another country JUST to go to an event that has absolutely nothing to do with the culture of that country, let alone be involved in the organisation of such an event (ahem MARK JAMES)... more stupid white people using Southeast Asia as a playground, flaunting our relative wealth.

Imagine what Ray Martin would be saying about a few thousand Balinese visiting Australia for the weekend for the express purpose of getting munted at a rave? He'd have a farkin field day!

This isn't just a stupid and dangerous thing to do, it's insensitive and inflammatory - towards both terrorist organisations AND law enforcement.

errrr dude, bali RELIES on a bunch of white dudes going over there.

the tourist dollar drives the country.

Posted by nicknack on May-10-2005 10:55:

that's 100% true, i just got back from bali and yeh they dont even use rupiah that much haha, it;s all 'ozzie dollar, you got ozzie dollar?!?!'

still we are forgetting thousands of people go in and leave bali every week, one person has been unluckily enough to have been framed (in my opinion) , disregarding the dipshit 9, 1 out of the god knows how many people that travel there everyday tells me it is still very safe to go there

on another note, somebody said electronic music wasnt in there culture, the majority of music i heard playing while i was over there was electronic (although a little cheesy) but still not all that bad

u dont have to do drugs to enjoy dance music.
and have a holiday.

If i could afford it, id probably go, get hella drunk and give the balinese cops no reason to arrest me.

and yeah, if your scared of bombs...well then the TERRORists win

and yer gotta agree with nicknack when i was there they seemed to be crankin stuff like dooms night an awful lot

Posted by Philby on May-10-2005 13:51:

the pun should always be intended!!!

bali rocks and would def go back there in a second. why all the strerss about drugs. your in a foreign country with beautiful beaches and hot weather...just get blind and enjoy. besides some of the cocktails (eg one thats called dynamite) over there will be enough to keep you going all night anyways

I think you are missing the point. People aren't worried about not taking drugs, I reakon people are more worried about having them planted on them or being accused due to being associated with such an event.....

yeah, that's true. i just hope the majority of the cash brought in by this event goes to the locals. it's not like they've had it easy lately.
