Alexander was fantastic, its really too bad that North American audiences can't handle the fact that arguably the worlds most celebrated warrior was bi-sexual, more gay than not really. With that said, Kingdom of heaven was better than good but not amazing. For the first time in a long time the film tried to stay as true to that period of teh crusades as possible.

it has nothing to do with him being GAY.

Its a bonus if you understand arabic, many things were said without being subtitled.

The movie was ok, nothing special. Doesn't even come close to Gladiator. It seems all the epic movies since Braveheart and Gladiator have sucked, with the exception of The Last Samurai

I'm quite sure that it does. In a nation (USA) that has a very strong Christian conservative majority, I would think that a film like Alexander that is so incredibly pro-homosexual, would not exactly be as well recieved as the film deserved. I'm sure more people would walk out of Alexander "disturbed" by the flamboyant over-homosexuality than any other historical fact that came out of the film.
Just in the theatre that I was in alone, there were people that were clearly bothered by Oliver Stones dipiction of his sexual preference.

my opinion.
