I thought of a Canada day show too, but the post on the first page says June

We are already bringing Boy George and Marc Vedo on Canada Day so that won't be happening! :-p

these days I associate twisted with high ticket prices...and they are not exactly reasonable

considering they are charging $40 for sander k, boy george $50, armin $45, oakie $60, I doubt it's gonna be cheap...

Posted by Mortyman on May-12-2005 19:34:

You're right, there's no way in hell this event will be cheap, or even reasonably cheap! But, no matter what the price, people will still come, it sucks, and I'm a sucker too

I hope it's a good venue too. I would'nt mind so much if it was at Commodore, I never been to the Collisium, but I pray to God it's not at friggin Plush. I'd like to experience someplace new for a change

Posted by Tayfoon on May-12-2005 20:19:

Its @ Plush

no other venue in the city except commodore can handle this kind of show

Posted by 24K on May-12-2005 21:08:

Do you guys have any idea how much it costs to book PvD???

Just be happy he's even stopping in Vancouver, it's remarkable that Twisted was able to lock this down!

Posted by Mortyman on May-13-2005 05:15:

Dude, I'm probably one of, if not "the", happiest person in Vancouver to find that he's making an appearance, I wouldn't even care he played for 1 hour only!
The fact of the matter is that it would be nice to go and party somewhere else for once! It seems that because the boys of Twisted are in so good with the boys of Plush, that they really aren't looking for other venues, and why would they? I understand this, but how much more Plush can one take.
Hell, I don't even live in the city, but the only time I get down to see an act... take one guess where I'm going?

I will be forever grateful to Twisted for booking him

Am I the only one who loves Plush? There's no other club of that size in Vancouver that allows you to get that intimate with DJs. Yes, the Commodore is bigger and slightly more upscale, but keep in mind that ticket prices instantly go up when you do a show there, as opposed to at Plush and you can't get nearly as close to the DJ. Plush is a much more personable experience overall and while it will never be perfect, I'd much rather have Plush as opposed to partying at the Commodore and paying $60/ ticket. Last time I saw Tiesto was at the Commodore, I could barely even see him on stage. Never again would I shell out that much cash even for a DJ of Tiesto's calibre. Just my two cents.

KarateKid

As far I know the Comodore is NOT an option for electronic shows anymore, it's got nothing to with Twisted 'being in' with Plush. Obviously it would be great to party somwehere else, I agree. The bottom line is that Vancouver is seriously lacking in that department, Plush is the only place that can accomodate a DJ such as PvD.

Posted by Mortyman on May-13-2005 06:04:

I still love Plush! Just getting repetitive that's all.

Posted by exergo on May-13-2005 06:38:

imho, commodore is much better than plush..

cleaner sound, better dancefloor, the balcony is open, etc etc..cooler staff and free coatcheck and $4.25 pints...plus it's nice and dark so you can really lose it.

i find the dj booth at plush too close to the crowd sometimes..always sooo many hoochies crowding the dj...ahaha

Posted by apri_peel on May-13-2005 07:23:

i agree with kris on this one
and commodore is quite nice, probably better of a venue for a DJ of pvd's calibre. but i guess there are politics of the scene that have to be considered. god i hope that guy who was in ferry's face doesnt make a fool out of himself again

as for ticket price, i dont even want to guess. its definately gonna cost a lot, wouldnt be surprised if it'll be $60 or more like for oakenfold. long are gone the days of b&h and $30 parties at the commodore

Posted by OurManFlint on May-13-2005 07:52:

Hey, can someone post pictures of Plush? Havn't been there yet.

Posted by neoh on May-13-2005 09:32:

I'll pay $100 to see PVD.
I don't care where it is.
I don't care who brings him out.

Just as long as it's Paul Van fucking Dyk. :|

Posted by rayray on May-13-2005 17:03:

you guys should appreciate to just see PvD regardless where he is playing, as long as there is alcohol and good vibes its all good...see you all there!!

We're not really complaining, just a matter of opinion. I'm gonna so with what Neoh said, I'd probably still pay $100 to see him, regardless where he is. He is a God amongst men

Posted by neoh on May-13-2005 23:53:

I'm going to buy them all out. :P

Posted by ten7ryder on May-14-2005 00:01:

I can't believe I've waited all this time for PvD to come to Van, and when he finally comes, I won't be in town!!! and ticket prices are cheap too!!! F**k

Posted by apri_peel on May-14-2005 00:09:

My guess is it takes a lot of cash to get the necessary goods to cover Oakey's contract rider
