I thought Shivers was awful when I heard it. It grew on me big time.

I think this is absolutely pathetic. It will not grow on me given time. Really really poor production from armin.

This track isn't very good

Posted by Endless_Trance on May-19-2005 17:31:

Well, usually Rank-1 made the Sensation White Athems.
And I think this is a pure Sensation White Athem.

In fact It is much better then the athem of last year.
That track was way out of order. So This year we can be proud of our Flying Dutchman.

AND DO NOT COMPARE TRACKS OF OTHER PRODUCERS!!!!!

THAT'S JUST WRONG

or you will always have to listen to your Adagio for strings.

Posted by Tayfoon on May-19-2005 21:23:

^And obviously your opinion isnt biased

How can you not compare to other producers when this track is a RIP OFF

hopefully Signum will save the release

We'll always have to listen to it when a track sounds exactly like it .

It's like saying we can't compare Shivers to the track it ripped off either, lame.

Not horrible but definetly not "ANTHEM" material 6/10

Posted by collenius on May-24-2005 11:54:

I just wonder why he made it like it is. I mean, the sounds are almost copy-pasted from Tiesto's Barber's Adagio (), and the chords and melody are ripped from Jean Michelle Jarre's Souvenir de Chine (Souvenir of China). Killed the atmosphere of the original (and that is what makes the original worth listening, the awesome sadness in it) right there and now.

I really wonder why: it is almost if he doesn't want to be original, and did his best in not being so.

Posted by Asperge on May-24-2005 21:26:

Boring and generic, typical Sensation anthem, Signum remix will probably only have another harder bassline and kick and will therefore suck too

Posted by Nik Novo on May-25-2005 00:59:

I think this track is boring and cheesy.

Hearing Serenity on the ASOT radio show, it doesn't sound special at all. But I just saw Armin last Thursday, and he played it as one of his last tracks in the show. It was a fairly small crowd and most of the people there were fairly knowledgable about Armin and his latest stuff. The way he played all night lended itself to playing that track. The sweeping synth had everyone smiling, even Armin, and it was great for the party.

It worked there, but I'm not sure if it's really a memorable classic. It does seem to be missing a captivating bassline. The ideas are there, it just doesn't sound well-rounded. Killed the crowd here in Edmonton, but it's not Armin's best.

I don't know about this tune. I like the Belgian Sensation Anthem [First & Andr - Widescreen] more than this one for sure.

Posted by raydn on May-28-2005 02:49:

this track is gash, armin must have been to busy and let a mate do it following instuctions or something.

Posted by CrackedLcd on May-28-2005 21:53:

6/10

It's not the greatest thing AvB has produced, but it's ok. I really wanna hear it live. I think it will be so much more powerful. I'm really digging the string/pad sound.

Okay, so I'll actually go on the defense of Armin . It does sound quite similar to Souvenir de Chine, but in Armin's tune the melody differs at the end of it. Having said that, I'll do a quick little rant...

This just seems to be another attempt by Armin at trying to gain the number one spot. Tisto's version of Adagio was huge amongst those who were new to Trance, and this is as if Armin is trying to be accepted by those same kids. The first time I heard a sample of this tune I figured that it was Tisto, not Armin, who made it.

Oh, and one quick question... Where the hell is the bassline?

2/10

Kinda reminds me of his 24 Theme's remix. It's fairly good.

Posted by Yoki on Jun-06-2005 20:59:

Armin ripped Tiesto for sure
cant believe this... damn - armin become more bad from track to track

lol, I like the last question...like I said, it seems to be missing a particular energy

Though, I must disagree with a 2/10...in my book, 2 out of 10 means complete shite, and I think this track is better than that...though I would definitely agree, it's nothing special.

Still like it, however...

and how exactly does the track sounding like Adagio For Strings have anything to do with Tiesto?

you for real? everything about this has tiesto's remake splashed all over it & that's blatently what he was on about, the melody isn't similar at all

i'm really struggling to see how you managed to find more similarities to ferry's mix here

and yes its shit regardless

*I live next to sportspalace Antwerp*

This tune is brillaint and very emotional...what version did Armin play @ Sensation? The part with violin seems to be slightly longer. Beautiful piece of trance combined with classical music.

Posted by Dire Straits on Jul-22-2005 21:35:

i like it, sounds pretty sweet

Posted by sigmanova on Jul-23-2005 00:15:

its nothing special for those at home listening to the mp3 of a recorded live set.

i'm sure i'll have to listen to it live...i think the effect is better that way rather than staying in on a Saturday night listening to downloaded material and bitching about how bad it is behind TA.

Posted by DJ Sid on Jul-23-2005 08:40:

i very much NOT like this track, i think it's pure crap , it doesn't do anything for me :/

well, armin's productions aren't my cup of tea anyway (except for Blue Fear, love that one)
