what is a proggy melody and a techno bassline? what are you talking about? "prog" isn't defined by its unique melody, and techno isn't defined by a unique bassline......
marketing tricks lol....
actually i dont know much about techno but tech house and tribal house /is what could be the techno side of progressive... so imo its just a marketing "scam".
Blegh, pigeonholing again.
Closest I've heard to such a thing is Float - Preperation, by Jamez. Techy progressive, at the least.
David Alvarado - Unspoken. Some kind of detroit techno and progressive tribal house in the same package, but I can't say it is progressive techno. It's progressive
Progressive techno is one of my favorite gendres.
The best example of it that I can think of is Alex Dolby- Psycho Garden
why would it be stupid to call something progressive techno, but all the other progressive sub genre's are exceptable?
i think when it comes down to it though...anything that could potential classified as progressive techno is already known as other shit...

I hear from hearsay that progressive techno is akin to acid country.

| his left me a self-taught musician which accounts for my unique playing style: piss poor. I toyed with my music on and off while pursuing other ambitions (rodeo cowboy, lingerie model, and astronaut) but my music kept calling me back. I started my first band. The Purple Headed Prairie Pups was a combination of acid-country and jazz-polka music. We set (and I believe it still stands) a record for clearing a bar and emotionally warping everyone in it. |
