-- TA anthem?
Pages (5): « 1 [2] 3 4 5 »
how about a short tune.. like you have @ the start of a tv show?
.. i dont know maybe a silly idea
[ usendit.com ]
i guess instead of full track submissions (like a competition) we could just have breakdown and melody sumissions so its less work on the producers end and have people vote. from there, whoever gets selected can go ahead and finish off the track, based on input from TAs...
...the idea of a competition sounds too.... competitive, hahaha, but you know what i mean, it should be a big collaborative effort rather than a competition, if that makes any sense.
I agree with EtherealSL, people submitting a reasonably complete breakdown/melody from which one is picked sounds good. From there it could be done in stages with the producer putting samples up as the tune develops, so as to get input from TA all the way through the tune.
Also, to keep everybody happy, maybe two versions would work, one techier/harder, one more prog/melodic for example.
However it gets done, i'm keen to contribute something though
Well the idea that I had in mind was to do a big scale collaboration.
Having one producer doing a specific part of the track.
For example, one who is really good at making those Pumping and Powerful kicks would take charge of that area, while another producer would take care of the rest of the percussion set.
Then we got the Melody Men (one for the main lead , another for the supporting leads, and yet another guy for those pads that goes so well in the background),the bassline Man, the FX men.
One person dedicated to a certain area.
Then another person to mix the track (volume leveling , etc.) and then a crew of people for mastering issues.
We can actually form two teams of people, one to make the Progressive \ Uplifting TA Anthem 2005 and another team for the harder version Tech/Hard Trance maybe?
Just my two cents...
I propose that someone makes a good melody and every single one of us makes his own interpretation of that song.
As a result we can make a big "maxi-cd" with all our tracks!

Really cool idea!
If u decide to make a collab.. I really like to join. I could come up with a melody or stream. Or the singing part!
That's THE idea: We all use the same vocals and everybody makes his own track of it - no problems with the melody, no problems with the style. We just need a theme...

...and someone with a nice voice
hey, umm....y'all talking about a melody guy...did any of you hear mine?
..my voice is ok
how about writing the vocals first then find a singer?
a male voice
why not. I propose that first we should work out a topic. In a second step we sould think about the lyrics.
@Moolow: Can we hear your voice anywhere?
I can help,if need...
If we want to do collab track,at first we need to know, what is anthem BPM,what kind of sounds we must reate,or smnthg...
imo we shouldnt have singing lyrics.. just spoken words.. more anthemy imo.

| Originally posted by TOR hehe, unfortunately he left trance behind for good, so i don't think we can expect some from his side.. PDM: the problem with a big scale coop is that everybody uses other tools to produce music.. so it would be quite difficult to achieve something, i think Lancaster: your idea is good. the question is.. who will write that melody? that's why we did the whole thing in two stages last time around, as dj_alfi is proposing now. EtherealSL: that's a good idea. Swamper only had the midi files last time around, and it's hard to judge a melody properly that way (he had to play them in Winamp, if i recall correctly). so a "more complete" composition should be better indeed. i'm not sure, though, if it's wise to elect one producer out of the bunch to finish his work. i mean, everybody will be watching his progress, he'll be the centre of the attention.. that comes with a lot of pressure. anyway, good ideas so far.. keep your thoughts coming |

i dont think the whole big massive collab thing would work at all...
its already to complicated to even think about...
i think we should rather do this as a compo..

| Originally posted by Fundamental A giant collab will never work. Not everyone can agree on everything. A competition to find the best anthem would be a better idea. If everyone at Tranceaddict is to involved, maybe things could go something like this... Possible TA Anthem Plan #1 Firstly, main melodies are be created by the TA's. As this is an "anthem" it's important to have a distincive melody. Melodies are submitted in MIDI format and Swamper (if he's feeling up to the challange again) chooses his favourite from the bunch. Once one melody is selected TA's can make a track with this melody. A Remix Competition style contest can take place to decide the best version of the track with the chosen melody. A number of TA's who did not submit a track will judge the tracks anonymously, and if you really want to get the whole of TA involved the top few tracks will be voted on by the whole of Tranceaddict to decide the winner. There should be no shortage of melodies submitted as the prospect of having your melody selected and numerous remixes being made of it isn't a chance that comes along every day. ![]() Also the number of remixes should be high as it's an opportunity for your music to be the Tranceaddict Anthem for the year. And if the top few tracks are to be listened to by the Tranceaddicts to decide the winner, this will provide a lot of coverage for you peeps! ![]() The final track will be presented as "Melody Creator - Track Name (Remixer Name) [Tranceaddict Anthem 2005]" ...any suggestions/comments/critique etc? |
