Hey. MIDI learn is simple to understand. Usually you press the MIDI learn button and then you move over to your hardware MIDI controller surface and move the controller you want to assign to something. Sometimes it can be more complicated as there isnt actually a standard on how it handles the selection of what hardware controller is assigned to the software control but in the end, they all do the same thing. In simple, it just allows you to select a hardware controller to control a software control .

^ on the same note...i really like this function as it makes life easier...why don't all vst's include this? i don't get it, whats the alternative to using midi learn to 'teaching' commands to the vst.

Yeah, if you use Fruity, then use the Fruity Free Filter. Alternatively, as mentioned by others, get the Waves FX bundle. =)
