see I've never really heard people regard Chicago as being up there with the likes of NYC or Miami (nowadays, of course. I know Chicago has a big spot in history of house)

Chicago has Crobar & before they remodeled it. It was the best club in North America. Now that its remodeled its not like it was. They also have Vision & Smartbar & Sound Bar. Smart Bar is always rated in the top 3 of clubs in the U.S, but I dont know why since I hate that club.

There we go...some clubs that I haven't heard of.

It's funny how you always hear about Space, Crobar, Avalon, Giant etc etc etc. Same thing applies to Toronto. Everyone knows about Guvernment (which is an AMAZING complex), but it's definately not the best club.

How late do parties usually go till in Chicago?

Yeah, me either. It just gives me hope because Chicago is much more practical for me. (Travel wise) Especially since I have a friend who has family and friends there and wants us all to go party sometime.

Thats what sucks, only 4am on Fridays & 5am on Saturdays in Chicago. I know Space in Miami is like 12 noon. & I heard clubs in Canada are open later.

yikes!! 4am is when the parties here really kick in. Guvernment usually goes till 7 or 8 (sometimes 10am on special occasions). Boa goes till about 11 or 12 noon and Comfort Zone is open from 6am sunday to 4am Monday

Recently though, there's been some scary shit going on politically. Shootings occured around Top 40 clubs between 2am-3am and the city is trying to blame the afterhours clubs for it Quote: "obviously the afterhours scum is to blame for these shootings, since they're the ones still going at 3AM."

note: alcohol stops being served at 2am

btw, didn't Tenaglia finish at like 4-5 pm the FOLLOWING afternoon@ the Docks, infinity?? thats what I heard. That woulda been like a 12+ hour set

In Ontario they serve alcohol until 2am. Most of the clubs TAs would be interested in are open until 8. There are a few afterhours clubs in Toronto that are open all day.... the best afterhours (Comfort Zone... which is a dirty hole but a great party) opens at 7 Sunday morning and is open until 4am Monday.

Cubik is held every friday night but with a more eclectic lineup, usually drum n bass in the front room and the main room is usually (but not limited to) house, electro, breaks, trance and techno...
