in miami they had 100 plus dj's or somethin
and they had seperate tents for different styles
rumsey playfield is just gonna be one big stage and each dj will have like a 30 min set or somethin
kinda weakster if you ask me
i dont think ill be checking it out

No one cares about NY Damn Southerners and their WMC (I didnt go, thats why I'm complaining)

Posted by AY STAR on May-31-2005 03:24:

werd big mike i dident go to the one in miami either
but if its gonna be a bootleg festival with a few good dj's but really short sets
then id rather save my money for when they come to a club and spin 3 ot 4 hour sets
but thats just me personally

i DOUBT it can even come close to Ultra Miami...of course im expecting to see Tiesto and even Oakie as a last result (better Oakie than Moby for instance -- Oakie wasnt even half BAD at Ultra 7, he was tolerable)

I *think* PVD would come back for NYC.

hey Oakey used to be a god to me, but not anymore, i havent liked him since 2001, he did impress me @ avalon on november 2003 and ibiza in 2004 (just cause its oakey in ibiza) but nothing more
everybody has got different opinions and that is mine....

and like people said, its gonna b just like a made event with probably 4-5 DJ's at the MOST, so we will c what it turns out to be

Posted by Vlad on May-31-2005 05:31:

This wont be a true Ultra event, so theres no point in them even trying to do this on the Great Lawn. It will be 6 1/2 hours... 4 DJs on the Mainstage and than a crazy after party someplace.

this is a pure marketing ploy to conjure up some insane ticket sales at the end of the summer when people dont wanna let shit go...promote djs who need as much promotion as i need a flood in the attic i dont have...to shove as little stuff in a small span of time in order to maximize the bottom line...and spread the Ultra name to those who may not know of it yet...or "have heard about it" once or twice...but ive been wrong before...

Oh, Im so sorry Mr. Event God...

6 1/2 hours vs. All Day
Bayfront Park vs. Rumsey Playfield
15 tents/stages vs. 1 stage

I dont think you need to be very smart to figure out that its not a real Ultra party, so hush.

we'll see. this is the first Ultra here; so they better impress! lol

...now this is WORTH following up with an AFTAPARTAYYYY -- id def go to that if they did it.

Jp was a Ultra miami a couple years back and he had an mazing reception. When did Ultra become a trance party its an event that brings all edm genres together!

i dont think its the fact that its not trance, but more the fact that he isn't soo good. But im not getting into that disscussion since i actually havn't heard JP spin the past year or 2.

Bring up sander/howells/sasha/dt im sure it would be different....

anyway on the subject of ultra. Id rather see 1-2 djs spin longer, then 10 djs spin 45 minute sets...

all short sets turn into each artist promoting him/herself...

You should take that up with my parents, its their fault they didnt fuck earlier so I could experience it. Its also their fault that I missed Twilo, Limelight and the original Soundfactory.

I think she was referring to a looser definition of "trance." I just think she wants the "scribble & louie devito"(even though their cds wern't all that bad looking)/rest of "MTV" away. But I could be wrong.

Trance is dead when produers/labels stop producing/releasing Trance records, imo OH! Unless you meant that classic Trance is dead House is cool. Although I prefer that Progressive House, not the straight up kind.
