i'll be there in my national team serbian jersey! i'll be in the neutral section though; had to compromise with my friend who supports italia.

Posted by kwongandy on Jun-09-2005 03:24:

pretty good match. flares and people running on the field. srbija defense collapsed at the end even though they were up a man. can anyone tell me who that serbian band was playing at halftime?

the band was RIBLJA CORBA (fish soup in translation), their singer is a legend in serbia......

i was in the ONLY section that was cheering the whole match....under the big tv screen.......ther rest of SKYDOME WAS A FUCKIN THEATRE....nonetheless good game, we shouldve won it but either way it was a nice chance for many young players to show what theyre made of....

i'll see if i can post a video after our first goal, and after the torches were lit up... "ALE ALE ALE, ALE ALE ALE, WE ARE THE CHAMPS!"

yea, the rest of the skydome was a freakin' theatre... and if another gino comes up to me and starts talking about soccer or even this game specifically, i'll send him back to review the tape of that match and tell me where in the world did he see any REAL italian fans in that place! it was more like raptors fans, sitting down, clapping from time to time... like a movie theatre (ssshhhhh, quiet!)... jokes. I guess it's been a while since some of them have been back to the "motherland" (or, even worse, many of them have never been!).

But hey, what do I care... it was a fun match nevertheless.

Posted by TheNeonAlien on Jun-09-2005 12:48:

I was in a good cheering section!
we had Italia chants the whole night!
Of course you are going to hear serb chants if you are in the serb section of the stadium!

i think the italian fans were a little stuned by the first half goal.

it was an exciting game. sad that 22,000 showed which means................not another soccer game in toronto for a while

Posted by TheNeonAlien on Jun-09-2005 12:52:

Oh and i saw at least 5 fights....3 hooligans jumped on the field... and a bunch of hotties!

one fight broke out between two serb guys!

Posted by zokissima on Jun-09-2005 13:25:

Wish I could have made it out to this, but had to work laaaate last night.

hmm, if only people weren't too blind to see the truth

i dont' care what anyone says, when we Celtic Bhoys came in last summer against Roma, it can't be beat. Singing, Dancing and cheering for 90 minutes, and we lost lol. Had we won, Toronto would have been destroyed.

And we definately put the 70:30 ratio of Roma Supporters to shame, they outnumbered us hardcore, and we were still louder.

Posted by TrickDaddE on Jun-09-2005 16:43:

How did I know it would be a tie?

back to soccer: Serbia has an excellent team, but Italy would normally win this match... the problem though is that Italians get lazy during friendlies. Italy and Serbia are both coming off tough ties. Serbia is hungrier and has more to prove in order to make it to WC 2006.

predicted score:

Serbia 3-1 Italy

Serbs + Croats = 2 people, 2 religions. Who says they're fighting each other, I thought the war was over? LMFAO. They all seem to get along in Canada from what I saw, as well as back home...

Anyway politics need to be left out of soccer & all sports for that matter. End of story.
It's all about the game. Bring on the world cup! Oh Yeaaaaaaaa
