Did you evey read my post? I said it feels like the DJ isn't doing much. I even put that word in bold in my previous post because I knew you would overlook it you dolt.

I use Traktor to record my mixes. It's easier to beatmatch with these programs due to sync functions in the software. In my opinion this takes a lot away from the live element.

Listen, there is a difference between DJs like you who simply replace the turntables and mixer with a laptop and DJs that use laptops to more easily access there productions and are able to edit them on the fly. BT's Laptop Symphony is an example of this. BT's is a long time producer and has the clout and ability to pull off an entire show with a laptop. Btw, I really want to see it, I've heard it is very good.

Pointless argument

Hello djmetatron.

This is a pointless argument, so without getting angry, and flaming, let's settle this, and put things clear.

I was not bashing any DJ's, and you calling me names would not help. So here are my comments, to your comments!

Without talent, no software can help you. You say you use Traktor to *record* your mixes. But you need to beat-match WHILE recording it. Softwre helps quite a bit I agree, but speaking for myself, you really need to listen also. Just my thoughts

You are right. I can't compare myself to BT at all. I'm not even close. I do admire him, that's all. I was not comparing myself to anybody. I just said, I get ideas and inspiration and tricks *listening closely* to PVD remixes.

HELLO! WTF are You talking about ? Markus was nobody, and he was picked up by Armin, when he took him under his wing, under the ARMADA label. Markus started playing and remixing all Armin tracks.
Markus does not produce at all. I'm willing to bet on this. All he does, is remix already produced tracks by Armin and sometimes M.I.K.E. I'd like you name me just 1 track that he produced.

LOL! Ok this is funny!. What I meant to say was he is too damn pretentious. I'd not go see Markus, even if he was the last DJ on earth. Again, I'm not bashing him, but saying that, IMHO he has no *mixing* talent. Laptop, or Vinyls, whatever.

Wasn't that the whole point this is about ?

I thought he was actually one of the least pretentious DJs of the bigguns... Tiesto, PvD, Oakenfold, Armin. Anyway if you have a problem with a DJ when he has a bit of an ego then you will have a problem with about 90% of all DJs, including myself .

j/k, btw I didn't mean to be that rude, at the time I was about to go to work and I'm always pissed before work. lol

Ableton is meant for live remixing, not a replacement for decks and vinyls. Yet I still see djs (or so called) playing prepatched sets, not even using the crossfader at all.

If your purpose is to simply mix, stick to your vinyls/cds, but definately use ableton live to remix.
