i even saw kimmi but she doesn't post on here. the club is okay..it's more the buckhead crowd that i have tried to avoid. it's quite an attraction for fakies.
i heard the cops came here to the afterparty though and our security guard was pissy too.. oppps we'll just have to be more quite outside next time. good partying..

Here's my (out of towner, first time clubbing in Atlanta) review:
I arrived around midnight, no line, which was nice. Paid my $20 cover charge. The place lives up to the name "Compound", there are extensive outdoor areas with fountains & tables & random bartending carts. Somehow I picked THE slowest lady, it seemed to take her about 5 minutes to make a Red Bull & Vodka. (get ice. Pour Vodka. Pour Red Bull. It's a very simple drink). $10. The bartender gave me the scoop--the first building was hip-hop, the second Trance.
Made my way back, to what to me seemed like the nightclub scene in movies, which never seems to reflect real life (til that night). Noone seemed very interested in the DJ, it took me awhile to figure out where he was, & the area in front of him was the deadest on the floor.
Nightclub cliches from movies:
Rows of videoscreens on the wall
A semi-deserted VIP area
Girls dancing up on each other, unclear whether they were lesbians or doing it for attention
A girl dressed in: Black go-go boots, Black leather hot pants, Black leather bra with tassels, fishnet stockings, & a dog collar, dancing on a platform.
I felt like a goober cause I was in town for a family wedding, & was wearing my clothes from the wedding brunch that morning. I'd come on the spur-of-the-moment after reading postings on TA around 11 pm on Saturday night.
The sound system was good. There was zero bleedthrough from the other building.
JP played a good set, though his music was darker than the usual stuff I like. People were dancing, even though there wasn't the cult of the DJ, with people pressed up front gawking. He mixed in some samples from Madonna's "Vogue". I wouldn't call his music trance. But I liked it, I danced & had a good time.
Sketchy highlight of the night: There was an discarded Summer's Eve Feminine Hygenine Cloth Package in the bathroom. Wasn't sure whether it was from a pre- or post- cleanup, or just OCD on someone's part.

glad ppl enjoyed it. soem ppl like him up here too. just not my cup of tea.
I thought JP was fantastic. I even wore my Sound Factory shirt to the party. Nobody noticed though.
The Compound was great. Lots of lookers and lookees if you're into that sort of stuff. JP was using Ableton Live on his Apple laptop. It appeared as if he was actually mixing the parts to create a track opposed to simply mixing two mixed down tracks. Didn't stay too long at the club but the two tracks I heard was awesome. The "dance" track really stood out and I wish I had a copy of that track. I would have stayed longer had I not grown tired of the club dancers sweating on me as they danced. In the middle of his set, JP would disppear to the backroom of the DJ booth. I wonder what he was doing...
