y'all should chill out...and click on my sig. ha.

Posted by dartrance on Jun-18-2005 02:53:

anyways i hear he is playing only 4 hour dj sets for the concerts

now this is just plain stupid. He played 9 hours for his day 2 concernt in europe

Why would people pay so much $$$ when he usually plays that on his regular club nights.

Can promotions confirm this?

Another thing you need to take into account is the fact that the production of a show like this requires alot of Money, Time, and large crews setting up, and lets not forget the theatrics. This all cost money. None of these people are working for free. I agree the set should be flawless and mixing should be perfect. But for 70 bucks I think this is reasonable if you take all the things into account.

Tiesto? That is nice of him.

But does he pick those DJs to open for him?

Because with Sasha it is not just opening...they tag-team and go back to back alot.

yeah, tiesto on numerous occasions actually including when i made a road trip to seattle. from all the times, that i've seen him, he had made sure the crowd paid some respect to the opener.

i'm not close with the promoters that bring him here so i don't know if he hand picks the openers. my guess is probably not. however, you can't expect every DJ to do a versus with their openers. we came out to see the headliner. the opener is just supposed to warm things up.

i just saw PVD 2 nights ago and he did bring someone with him on tour. he didn't bother going back-to-back with him, but he did allow him to play an extra hour which kinda pissed some people off because he was supposed to play 3 hours. since he gave an extra hour to the opener, he only spun for 2 hours before the club had to close.

Well usually...Sasha opens...then hands it off to the guest...then they go back to back...then sasha closes...but it can change depending on how much he feels like playing. I just like the idea that "we are gonna share the night" you know? I wasnt there but I heard when he played back to back with Zabiela a few months ago the chemistry was insane...and they were feeding off each others energy and just goin nuts...

I have yet to see some good trance DJs go back to back...but it would be fun!

armin just did it with remy in NYC.

different people, different styles, different methods. versus' are nice and i have fun sometimes when i do that with my friends but not everyone is into that.

I hope we possibly get an extended set once things are in motion that night!

Posted by SVGmethod on Jun-20-2005 17:58:

i got $10 on it...now we just need $9990 more. LOL

Posted by Shafer8 on Jun-20-2005 18:00:

Fuck the realy is is every kicked in $1 we would be all good! LOL

Posted by DaveT on Jun-20-2005 18:22:

Tiesto's set is 4 hours. I can kinda confirm this at this point. Good luck. I'll try to go if I get the hookups....*cough* HELLO!

Posted by Shafer8 on Jun-20-2005 18:24:

I know his set is 4 hours BUT as in Vegas miracles can happen here. If everyone kicked in $1 more at the time of closure, maybe we can make the same thing happen in LA.

LOL what artists isnt in it for the money now a days, and those who arent, will be soon enough with hard work and dedication listen Tiesto put in back in the day.

Have to give him credit for the past of all the hard work and riskes he took.

FYI Kristena Sky does rock!

this is my first time going thru this thread, and I was surprised to stumble across my name in the midst of it all...

Anyway, thanks Shafer for the props, I really appreciate it. :-)

It's a huge difference when the promoter of the night actually controls the club and when it's a rented out venue that's paid to go to a certain time. That's paying people to show up at a certain time to break things down. That's paying people to show up at a certain time to clean the place up.

It's a logistical nightmare to extend events like this that take place in arenas.

Posted by Shafer8 on Jun-20-2005 18:38:

Dave,

You are most right but we can always pray for miracles to happen.

Its a compliment, and its the truth

Posted by ninetyninej on Jun-20-2005 22:29:

What a wide variety of opinions. You know its the differences that make the world great. I think the night will be, in the words of Tiesto, magikal.

Also I'm going to be in the lower level seats, row 3 from the floor to be exact, so I won't have to step over all the epuddles.

Posted by Shafer8 on Jun-20-2005 22:31:

FYI- I know for a fact it isnt assigned seating, you ticket will allow you to roam freely in the section you have bought them in.

Gonna be one crazy night, thats for sure.

Tiesto's agency in their version of his TiC press release have announced that a TiC will also take place in Miami, Washington DC and New Orleans (Voodoo Festival). And on NYE somewhere.
