This is quality Wim. The build and chord progression is A1, percussion and fx generate such a sweet 'clubby' atmosphere like they do in most of you're tunes an the vocals are implemented well.

Although, having said that, I think you should add a minimal phaser and panning to the latter parts of the chorus to add a kind of 'wispy' effect.

Good stuff.

- nice synth/acid work
- maybe have the cut off frequency go way up on hose acids for a build up
- that single kick at 2:20 should be like one of those explosion kicks or crashes that has huge reeverb on it
- like mentioned piano does sound a bit awkward to me. maybe some nice delay could help
- melody is very uplifting for me
- when the beat comes back after the break, try to separate the progression of the mixdown. maybe the hats. i mean let the kick come with some hats and after 16 or 8 bars let the rest come to keep pushing up

Thanks for the review euler! You're free to do a remix if you'd like to make it your style

Listening the track now on headphones.

That little snare-roll-effect has to much high on it which hurts. Like the strings in the intro, all rolls nicely. Not much hapening, now the break comes in, sounds really good! Nice atmo..., Now the climax is coming. Yes, well it sounds really licked, but its nothing special. I think you should use another notes for the climax lead, thats my oppinion, to make it sound more original... This track is not something which i'll remember for long time.
I don't like he piano in the second brake. It doesn't sound natural, to much delay on it and a nothing-telling melodie.
But you've got the reputation, i'm not surprised...

Talking

A little heavy on the reverb-delay combo, but that's a mistake I made on one of my earlier tracks too, so I won't dock you for that

The lead (?) is drowned out by the pads in some places.

Overall, though, I like it. And how 'bout them PADS?

Posted by Icone on Jun-20-2005 00:32:

Hey DC!

I think the track sounds more muddy due to the encoding... As it sounds alot more clear on my hd

The fact that the lead is kind of merging with the pads was intentional though.

It always does sound better on one's own HD It's like that with the first movement of my electronic symphony - the version I uploaded first was too quiet and you couldn't hear anything over those timpani

Loved this one

very well done, congrats

I think all has been said so far. Great track! The breakdown just made me become goose bumps (nice arps + choirs). Amazing!

Posted by The Drow on Jun-20-2005 09:59:

you can improve the choirs...
Give me the midi I'll try to give it a darker edge.
I can't promise anything...

bassline is tight. percs are lovely. wow, the break is awsome!! Really nice atmosphere here!!! Melody is nice too.

overall impression:
standard trancetrack. nice uplifting vibe. good job. though - I missed more creativity. Nothing really surprised me while listening.

(I heard the vocal remake)

Posted by Icone on Jun-20-2005 14:40:

Thanks everyone, I'm glad you enjoy it

Just pm me if you'd like to try a remix, no problem.

Alex: next time I'll put some rap in there to knock you off your seat

Hehe, yeah that would be cool! But seriously, this is a great track. Just needs more creative twists to make it stand out

Read This!

I downloaded the tune and it sounded excellent to me. I wouldn't add any more changes to it.

Nice job guys!!

My little critic:

2:47 - replace pianos; too "Children"ish with monologue.

8:00 - vocals could bounce to the beat a little more.

Vocals at points seem over powered by the pads for me as well.

Kinda reminds of a cross between "Where Are You Now" in it's build ups, "Children" in the monologue parts (probably because of the piano) and "Perpetous Dreamer" in drive and power.

I absolutely love it and can't wait for the finished product!

Great job on the vocals Sarah!!

One of my favs , was playing the melody on my piano a few weeks ago lol.

I love it Wim!

really crisp.

the dub is nicer because it sounds more sophisticated.

lush main melody and bassline.

love it!

Posted by Icone on Jun-22-2005 19:39:

Thanks alot for the additional (and constructive) comments, much appreciated!

If the label is alright with these mixes, I will not work on them anymore though

Take care,
Wim

Posted by Matt on Jun-23-2005 03:43:

wow. At first I wasn't sure about the spoken vocals but I've decided they work beautifully with the melody. A nice driving quality to this piece.

Toronto is proud of Shyenne

Better pass the acapella on to some Toronto producers... some of us want to get our grimy little hands on this gem

Posted by Icone on Jun-23-2005 11:21:

Thanks Matt!

Would some people you know like to do a remix you reckon? If so, just drop me a pm.

Bye,
Wim
