some of the nicest and friendliest guys I ever met smoked weed and didnt drink alcohol. and on the counterpart I've met some really fucked up alcohol drinking retards.

theres nothing wrong with a little bit of drugs once in a while....as long as it doesnt affect the night or cause some type of issues in the club. Like at club space people are always having some sort of heat strokes out in the street and the cops just sit there and laugh at them...its pretty funny how fucked up the cops are

this has been going on in the uk for quite a while, it's quite easy for undercovers to make a bust, they even used to dress in cyber at gatecrasher to catch people out...

There's no evidence to suggest MDMA causes any long term effects yet, no one knows. people who took it in the 70's haven't had any trouble yet, and that was 25-35 years ago. If it does have any long term damage, alot of people are fucked, probably half of TA included.

Everyone that I know that is involved with drugs has had a significant drop in their self esteem. Aside from that everyone that i know that has gotten off of drugs says their life is a whole lot better. In my opinion , for the user, drugs make a night better, but make a lifetime worse, and for the guy that has to put up with a drugged up person, the night lowers in fun significantly.

Weed isn't really more dangerous than alcohol. And I'm not biased - I don't do either. Probably some psychedelics are harmless too, but stuff like heroin, speed, cocaine, and possibly ecstasty... well, I wouldn't use them. Too much negative effects on your body.

Sorry, but I'm a bit skeptical/curious. I was at Freaknight as well and didn't sense anything out of the norm. I just don't see how they could pull it off without people getting a whiff of it. You have "a friend in law enforcement" and you read a "report" from a "six-man team"? Please give more detail of the report; how did they make arrests? Were most of the arrests related or associated with eachother or were there separate dealers being arrested?

Also you say it's a program taking place all over the country, which means that it's a federal program, which means it would more likely be DEA agents rather than undercover police officers.

Please explain more. I'm always a skeptic.

All that this is going to do, regardless of whether you do drugs or not, is that it will push the scene further underground.

What the authorities should realise is that as hard as they try to bust dealers, close clubs etc etc etc, is that people ARE STILL GOING TO DO DRUGS. The approach they should take is to turn a blind eye to people who like to get a bit fucked, because they would get fucked anyway whether the cops are there or not.

They are not solving "problems" this way, they are just pushing them away to other places.

why don't they try and close nice bars because of the people who snort coke in the toilets

They do!

One of the club/bars I frequent got shut down for coke, was so bad they had to redesign the toilets to that all flat surfaces now slant downwards

in my hometown all the fast food resturants have anti drug lighting in the toilets....

if you went to a club in NYC during the late 80s, early 90s, drinking was the big form of intoxication and there were constantly fights in the clubs. if you bumped into someone as you walked around there was a good chance they would throw a punch at you. everyone had beer muscles.

now that extacy is the drug of choice in the clubs it is a joy going to clubs in NYC. some bumps into you and they could be a meathead guido with no shirt on and they will stop you, apologize and ask if everything is okay.

i'll take the latter anyday.
