That reminds me, does anyone think it's interesting that Avalon is yet another club closing while Tony Draper has a residency? I think for the culmination of the entire EDM club scene, JP and Tony Draper should do a worldwide "Club Destruction" tour.

praise da lord

Parking around there was a bit of a bitch. Maybe this was one of the reasons Ferry played @ Crobar this time instead of Avalon.

We need clubs that play electronic music of any type OPEN. Now the one that you like the most, you go there. Spirit.. Crobar..Canal etc etc. Just because someone does not like the crowed, or the way the club is arranged inside it doesen't mean it SHOULD close. Other people might like it. Since i turned 18 (now turned 20) there were only a couple or 3 clubs i could go to... Spirit, avalon etc. Not ALL -21 kids go for the drugs and fights.. I liked the music from a young age.

Anyway we still don't know if it will close for sure yet.

yeah all the night regulations on the sidestreets, but always parking on Sixth Avenue

If Avalon takes over Spirit ill never go there again. Spirit already has a horrible crowd and when you add Avalon into the mix it's a living nightmare.

Does anyone want to pool some money together and buy out the Avalon space? We, as club goers, know what we want in a club, we know what crowds we want, we know what DJ's we want.

i'd have the bouncers quiz the people about the headliner upon entering... rotate 20 questions so that the people behind don't overhear. they wouldn't be so hard so that you'll find no one there.... but it'll at least guarantee that the people there have at least some interest in the music

If I took over that club, Id be busting my ass to book DJ's that rarely ever play in the states, i.e. Lucien Foort or people that dont ever leave a certain city, i.e. Ivano Bellini.

Could you even come up with 20 questions for those 2 DJ's?

well said. I love how people who don't like certain clubs say how they're happy the place closed. Well, now the crowd from that club you hated is looking for a place to invade. Guess what, they're heading over to 27th and 28th street.
