-- Smith and Pledger - Northern Lights (Original Remix)
Pages (3): « 1 [2] 3 »
Wow good to hear from you mike! Insane productions you have put out, can't wait for more!
Must say the original has grown on me a lot.
i think this is one of those tracks which either you 'get it' or you dont. Personally i think it's beautiful and captures the mood and atmosphere of the actual northern lights brilliantly. I think s&p are great at writing and producing multiple melodies that compliment each other and actually convey a mood/feeling, rather than just 'cool sounding bleeps'. Can't wait to see what these guys do next.

Its not too bad. I heard it in 2 of pauls sets. It sounds nice, but nothing too special. I had it in my hands at the shop the other day but couldnt convince my self to buy it.

i think this is superb
trance: maybe you really should listen to this tune
Because it is a decent trance track. People just automatically assume that because above & beyond play it or whatever that it sucks. Thats a load of shit.
I think most of there stuff is typical, but this is pretty good. I can see why paul is playing it
i like it, 4/5
Superb tune!
original remix?
i think it's rather bland but at the same time i can't bring myself to actively dislike it. i kinda agree with what nell says too, just there isn't really anything exciting about it
gets a middle of the road 6/10
I prefer Hijack to Northern Lights as well. And if we're comparing their trance songs, I think Believe (2004 mix) is even better than Northern Lights.
Anjuna's not killing trance, it's one of the labels that's actually keeping it alive. I do agree that there is a specific "Anjuna feel," very melodious and trancey. I do, however, think that Hijack doesn't fit as well into that category. And I think they're branching out with Air to Life and Larry Mountains 54. Anjuna puts out quality tunes, no matter the style.
the same crap they have been producing all their lives. Quit the day job guys

i'm sure this sounds great to people just getting in to trance, but after a few years of listening, stuff like this doesn't make me stop and ask the name of the song i just heard. So i wouldn't say its boring, but it is mundane.
Liked it first few times. kinda gone off it. Sounds a little cheesy I think. Although most stuff on Anjunabeats label is pretty good. I own a few Anjunabeats releases.
Pure amazing track! i love it! ![]()
gone off this, did nothing for me last time i heard it.
The breakdown is what gets me everytime, very visual that melody is
