NOT TRUE MY FRIEND....As an individual who loved Twilo my 2 fave dj's are PvD and Sasha (and then Diggers of course). I have always wanted to see PvD and Sasha spin an extended set together. It is funny b/c when Sasha was spinning trance in the late 90's he caned a lot of PvD tracks including Namistai, Words, Beautiful Place and spun with PvD at E-Werk etc...then Sasha went progressive while PvD did not. In the last year or Sasha has changed his style.
Would love to know what Sasha played at LFA and also how PvD opened for Sasha too. What was the flow and transition like when PvD took over for Sasha?
I love seeing the two of them in the booth together....wonder what they talk about? hahahha

essentially everyone was there for pvd so...
(besides myself and really one or two people i know... nobody who loves pvd loves sasha too and i guess that's the problem)

Posted by umes23 on Jul-17-2005 03:01:

hehe of course there are exceptions and i'm glad you're one of em... especially if its a twilo thing but generally, the hardcore pvd fans i come across are not too into sasha.

pvd did not play before sasha. sasha played for two hours and pvd played for 4+ after him. they had edgar v and other openers there for the party.

i'm sure i can imagine what kind of music sasha played as i've been lucky to see him many times this recently but knowing some key tracks would be nice... no one seems to know any tho

there is a video on john digweeds website of them spinning together at buenos aires and sasha jumps around like a madman.

i love that video.. but seeing sasha and digs go nuts is possible. sasha and pvd is just rare and they are my two absolute favorites... but of course they'll never tag team like S&D do... pvd just won't play slow enough for that to work out lol

Posted by iammesol on Jul-17-2005 04:22:

Wow, this is getting way off topic. I'm a hardcore fan of random fun, but lets at least try to get a TL here

This is wrong. They always used to get paired up together on lineups because of how well they played off each others sound, and everyone knew it. Nowadays though Sasha's playlist has taken a huge turn for the worse. In saying that, PvD's is pretty shocking too. Which is why I didn't attend this year.

Also, people seem to be finding it a bit hard to understand that LFA wasn't actually broadcasted this year.

Posted by jc on Jul-17-2005 07:44:

a friend of mine was there, he could hardly ID any tracks that sasha played. He did throw in the lead from Wavy Gravy from time to time..

Posted by Djack on Jul-17-2005 12:37:

I already posted in another thread that I think he played
Matthew Dekay - The Deep Show (Original)
- but I'm not sure about that, because I hadn't heard that track before TLFA and just afterwards with the melodie in mind listened to that and thought: Damn! That's the one he played!

So would be great if anybody could confirm that

Good call . Can we get an admin to move this out of the TL forum then? Thanks in advance!

Sasha Playlist

Hello everybody, does anybody know the last 2 tracks of Sasha at LFA.
ideally the whole playlist.

thanx, Ruby

Posted by zolwik on Jul-21-2005 23:33:

nobody seems to know tracks which sasha played.
His set was different than the stuff he is playing for months. A lot beeter, especially the second hour. He started with great trancy track, then was some smooth progressive tunes and then the second hour was great. Deep progressive sounds and the people went crazy. There was a great flow during his set. He build the athmosphere inside. I was wondering the whole second hour what he is playing and I couldn't id anything

In the first hour i remember

Trancesetters - Beatfreaks Rmx
Beanfield Tides feat. Bajka (Cs Movement #1) (Carl Craig Remix)

Mayby someone would add sth to this tracklist especially first and few last tracks

Posted by hasemann on Jul-25-2005 09:49:

Hey, after listening to another set from Sasha I remember 2 songs, but I'm not 100% sure if the rmx is correct:
~ Juliet - Avalon (Jacques Lu Cont's Thin White Duke Mix) (or another rmx)
~ Coburn vs. Dumb Blonde - Sugar Lips (Kiki Mix)

sounds about right.. ive heard him play both of these mixes of these two tracks multiple times and never heard of him playing different mixes either.

check out tim deluxe - reflections and let us know if he you think he played that?

Posted by Partyhardy! on Jul-25-2005 20:39:

Awesome set from the master!
I'm 100% sure that after an hour or so he played Sebastian Ingrosso - Get it back In the end he began to spin breaks And he played ID#7 of his Essential Mix (22-05-2005)
That's all I can remember

Posted by zolwik on Jul-25-2005 22:29:

GOOD! more more more ids! work hard people!

Posted by regulate on Jul-25-2005 22:39:

so was this set recorded? or how about the b2b with john digweed at buenos aries, the movie clip on his site?

Posted by iammesol on Jul-26-2005 02:31:

this set was not recorded. I already asked for this topic to be moved.

Well I'm not sure whether he played this track or not, but its good possible cuz I've heared this track only 1 time before in the last 2 months ...

And no, it was not recorded cuz this time "Radio-Fritz" did not broadcast the LFA
Hopefully next year :P

What's your problem? The fact that it wasn't recorded doesn't mean that the tracks played by sasha can't be figured out...

Posted by iammesol on Jul-27-2005 01:55:

no prob whatsoever, just don't want this topic to be suddenly closed because we weren't sticking to TLs (look at the first page)

Posted by sandstorm03 on Jul-27-2005 02:41:

sometimes paul plays sets a month or 2 after events...

esp w/tpod comming he wont play it on fritz

Posted by zolwik on Jul-30-2005 14:55:

So we have:
Sebastian Ingrosso - Get it back
Coburn vs. Dumb Blonde - Sugar Lips (Kiki Mix)
Juliet - Avalon (Sasha instrumental mix)
Trancesetters - Beatfreaks Rmx
Beanfield Tides feat. Bajka (Cs Movement #1) (Carl Craig Remix)
Matthew Dekay - The Deep Show (Original)

And i've found one more,it is track 24 from his Aria set at 148:30 minute

But still there is no 2 best tracks. The first one which he played (very slow breaks and trancy) and one from the last 30 minutes

Update: Sasha played track number 5 from Poziom-X @ Nature One 2005 - unknow track
