Interesting choice of words.

If everyone likes the tracks, then why do so many despise said djs?

I dunno. I can't speak for anyone else, but frankly, I think that what mostly goes on around here is people being way too lovey-dovey about their favorite tracks/DJs, not people jumping on hate-bandwagons.

Rasta

Jumping back into topic.......

I really didnt like 005 at 1st either n was wondering what all the hype was about. Upon further listening its quickly became one of my fave mixes EVER! & even changed my fave genre of EDM is some twisted way (No more silly TRANCE, sorry guys ).

Even if you dont like it for the music/style....u still have to love it for tracks 5 through 14(the end) on the 2nd disc.

Respect to Holden......

I ripped the cd as a continuous mix and put it on my mp3 player, and when I finally went back to look at the tracklist (a few weeks later after many listens) I was stunned to see All Together wasn't the third track. The entire mix is focused on subtleties that really do require active listening, instead of the passive listening you can get away with on nearly all other mixes.

I completely agree with you, i had to sit and concentrate at first to tell when he was mixing those tracks, now i can hear it everytime but at first i thought the same thing.

Great compilation by holden, i dont think its up at say GU 13 level (see: timeless) but its close.

I was stoked to hear that Desyn is going to be doing the next balance!

Mr. Ory agrees... to some extent. I liked a few tracks, for example; Outhouse, which is nicely psyched out. I just feel that it got a bit too dull in some parts. And the mixing isn't ALL THAT amazing.

Yea, then what is it?

Posted by webbie on Jul-19-2005 15:25:

Balance 005 is mixed on a computer tho, right?
Otherwise Mr Holden must have gotten really good at mixing and then forgotten all about technique afterwards.

Posted by |cEbLu3 on Jul-19-2005 17:53:

all i can say gauss is that you liking albums like balance 005 and airdrawndagger depends on your development of musical tastes. i liked balance right away, but i only started getting into airdrawndagger at the end of last year, i was just a ta different phase in musical tastes. Also u should consider that balance isn't a cd that you'll be dancing to all through like a regular mix cd. Its a representation of holden's varied musical styles and tatses at the time of its production.

I have 007, its not bad. not my exact cup of tea but then again everyone to their own. Nice to chill n relax too

It doesn't fucking matter what genre is it. Why the fuck would you think I like Tiest anyway? Just because I found Balance boring? Go slit your wrists or something, moron.
