you are psycho

omg bro, i am right there with ya. blinkers bother me all the time. and ambient noise drives me nuts. it feels like i NEED a rhythm. dont worry bro, you arent the only one!

Posted by Zild on Jul-22-2005 13:24:

You guys ever try to match how many road stripes you drive by to the BPM of the track you're listening to? You know if they're coming too slow you accelerate, ect... use exit, and entrance ramps to transition. Yeah, I guess we have problems.

Posted by fr3sh on Jul-22-2005 17:08:

i beatmatch to the rhythmic pattern of the birds chirping in the morning... and the windshield wipers to the person's wipers in front of me

so in other words you're a menace on the road...i hope you listen to some low bpm songs...and not happy hardcore....

Well considering I mostly listen to NPR and Jazz while driving, not very likely.

Posted by Kaveh on Jul-22-2005 20:06:

haha, nice thread!

I've also had experiences like that, the car thing for example ;] although I only produce.. not dj

Posted by spdandpwr on Jul-22-2005 20:15:

wait if you are a producer perhaps you should consider remaking that track in the unknown tracks form thats been going on for 3 years there are 30 pages of posts on that forum. I try to synchronize my steps with other peoples sometimes. you should try synching steps on uneven terrain with people its almost impossible i don't really do much else but clapping off beat is so much fun. Some guy called me retarded for not synching my claps

Posted by Basilf1 on Jul-22-2005 20:47:

I hear you, I just finished having a shoot eariler today with a friend and my tables. I couldn't get anything done for a while everytime the beats drifted I had to walk over and nudge the record or move the fader. I had to unplug the table from the monitors, or else I'd be still teaching her how to beatmatch.

I suffer from unsyncedophobia but, somedays are better than others.

LOL I know the feeling I do all the things you guys are talking about plus when even taken a shower I have trance on in the back ground lol I beat match my scrubbing strokes lol just means we are the essences for dj's. The thing that really bothers me though is walking thru like the mall and all the stores like Abercrombie and Fitch and etc have house/trance playing and you walk by and hear all this music and its so out of sync from the diffrent stores it drives me nuts!

Posted by deknician on Jul-22-2005 21:43:

This is one of the best threads I have ever read. The turn signals/indicators, crowd clapping and footsteps. So true.

I thought I was the only one!

the quick fix for the stores...connect the whole mall to the same sound system and play the same track...

Posted by spdandpwr on Jul-22-2005 22:34:

if i worked at one of those stores i would hook up a cd player with pitch control and try to beat match the music of the stores or play the same song and get it synched. I wonder if you would get a flage effect. It would be funny to hear flanged effect between the two stores

Has wound me up since i was in my early teens.

It official- people are stupid

Yup, I hate this beyond belief. What also hacks me off is when they clap on every beat and I have noticed that this seems to be a prodiminately white thing. Black people can clap on the snare but it seems that large groups of white people have no rythm whatsoever. What gets me even more is the fucking stupid grin they seem to have at the time... almost smugness...

Saying that, the state of some people sometimes, I'm surprised when they even manage to put their hands together let alone get it in time.

Cheers

well most stadiums echo so that could be contributing to the trainwreck. As for women not thinking we are 'cool' by reading threads like these well, all we are is basically refining our skills in everyday life by synching footsteps, window wipers, turn signals, and claps among other things. I think white people not having rythme is why we can't dance either.

I have seen a few women around on the forums. One springs to mind in particular. She posted a question and all she get was a bunch of sleeze about her avatar. The problem is that some here are a little too infantile about the whole thing.

I think we do have rythm but culturally it's just different.
Saying that, I have seen black people who can't sing or dance either.

But on the whole, if you see a white person who can really dance and compare him/her to a black person who can dance, the black person just looks more natural in the movements.

Just incase someone is thinking of flaming this, let it be known that this is not a racial dig at black (or white) people, I have heaps of respect for all cultural backgrounds and have no issue with skin colour. Just merely an observation.

On that crowd clapping thing, sometimes I wonder how the bands don't completely fuck up by going on sync with the crowd instead of the music.. they need to be concentrated as hell.

These sort of things annoy me too and i'm not even a dj
