but pvd is not a "trance" dj, even if it's the bigger component of his sets, in does not DEFINE him. he plays house, techno, tech house, tech trance and yet a lot more...when he wants to.
given the above fact, why should i look at it as what's the best TRANCE out there for him to make a cd with? if there is relatively no good trance to make a cd with, either don't use that music or don't make the cd at this time lol. yeah we might make up for 1% of the market but some of us are his biggest fans on the planet and chase him around as much as we possibly can to catch him live.... why should we put up with anything below what we've come to expect from our favorite dj?
as an "artist" he should care more about the people that understand and love his "art" not the people seeing it as something new (thats what u call mass appeal) due to lack of knowledge when it's clearly subpar to the high standard he set for himself 4, 5, and more years ago.
there is one thing i can agree with which is your first sentence. we haven't heard the cd, and surely i will give it a listen as i was hoping to LOVE it.... and only good remixing can save the overall mix because some of these tracks just should not be on this disc and if they sound like what i think they sound like then the last thing i have left to say is a BIG FAT BLAH.

Tracks like Summer Dream or The Other Side haven't been put on any other compilation till now. Many of the tracks aren't released yet. I don't think the tracklist is poor. OK, it's far from TPOD1 but I think its impossible to reach the standards from 2001 today. How could Paul put outstanding tracks on TPOD2 if there aren't any??? Today we have no Club Attack, Into the Night or Rapture. And one thing: Look at TPOD2 with the eyes of a "normal" trance listener. Not like us that get a PvD Liveset every month and can download new tracks months before they will be released. Yes, for internet junkies like us, some tracks are old, overplayed and boring...but I think we represent only 1% of all trance listeners. The average trance listener will be satisfied by this compilation for sure!!! I will buy this CD and I'm sure I like it and listen to it more than one time. It's the same with ASOT 2005 or ISOS 4. Most people here on TA were disappointed but I like both CDs. ISOS has so man beautiful tracks, only the mixing is terrible. And ASOT 2005 has a lot of good tracks too and superb mixing by Armin with Ableton. So maybe some people should have lower expectations. If not, they'll be disappointed each and every time a new CD comes out. And of course: no one forces you to buy this CD |
Tracklist doesn't look impressing...
Interesting......very interesting.
I'm going to put my faith in Paul and give this CD a chance. It might have a few surprises.
However, i do have to say that i'm disappointed that there isn't more new/unreleased material on here, paticularly since it has been delayed for so long.
I like POD1, but this CD...well I don't know all but a couple of those tracks, and since I listen to good music, this means they suck.
Positiva release has been pushed back to September 19th.
tracklist of CD1 looks good to me, nothing special, but it's ok,
CD2 is a big disappointment from him in my opinion
I'm somehow missing "Timo Maas - Pictures (Paul van Dyk Remix)" and "Deep Dish - Say Hello (Paul van Dyk Remix)" on this CD. Can't really believe they are not on it.
I think they don't tell us the truth on Pauls Site about the Tracklist. He played both CDs @ LFA in the right order???

I highly doubt the tracklisting is all correct. If it is, maybe we can hope for a bonus cd?!

if this is the real t/l i will be gutted
I remember the days when Paul was my fav Dj and a cd like this would have me very excited. Those days are long gone now...
Oh and the tl looks like crap, real or fake.

it may be fake, according to this and at amazon.ca, Paul's TPOD2 CD should be release on July 26.

its priced at 9.99 CAN for 2cds, WTF!
The tracklist is a major disapointment IMO. After seeing PvD 2 times in the past couple months, I think he should seriously consider retiring. The amount of money he gets paid to 'perform' is absurd, when basically any half decent DJ can play the exact same set.

TL might be fake
Im not too sure about this but I think the TL may be fake, due to some evidence Ive found, again I might be incorrect but here goes nothing. First of all I find it rather funny that theres no direct link from his website and that the announcement of the tracklist in not mention on the his official home page. Also the web page containing the tracklist seems to be rather dull and something any computer geek with basic computer knowledge could produce. The CD cover is basically a copy from one of his posters and the outlining of the track list can be easily made with a simple word document program so it could of highly been forged. Also there seems to be a lot of so called promised and 100% confirmed tracks not listed. I mean why promise something when its not featured. PVD had some idea of what was on the CD. The produced TL on the webpage seemed to have a lot of spelling errors. I dont think someone in charge of putting this on his website would without proof reading it first or at least checking it. I mean theres an e missing on Adrenline. Blackbird is actually Blackboard and track 12 on CD 1 is out of place. I mean the name of the artist first comes first and then the title of the song but its the other way around just for track 12. I highly doubt they would post a TL with so many errors. By looking at the tracklist, some of the tracks seem kind of hard to mix into, I mean PVD is know to do the impossible but come on why should he choose to mix two entirely different tracks back to back. Hed pick something easier and better sounding to mix into. I also highly doubt hed pick such a TL, I mean come on thats not PVD at all. There seems to be so many highly over played tunes. Again I may be wrong but this is just my two cents.
And if its real then God help us all, Trance is lost.
well, done
perfect!
