this year it's all about tottenham for me

Tomorrow: Penafiel - FC Porto

Co said he'll play some of the least used players in this game. Strangely, Jorge Costa and Nuno Valente weren't called, for like the 3rd consecutive time already. I can understand Jorge Costa being out, but Nuno? Leandro is playing well there but he should get a chance.

Saturday: FC Porto - Espanyol (presentation match)

Posted by noikeee on Aug-12-2005 09:43:

3-0, Jorginho scored 2 and Lucho Gonzalez the other - Diego missed a penalty kick. Apparently we played great, the match wasn't on TV so i didn't see it. But also apparently Espanyol is having a poor pre-season and failed to create any chances the whole game.

Benfica ******s won the Supercup 1-0 to Set?bal with a goal that should have been disallowed cause of a foul that wasn't called. Poor game overall with Benfica playing a little bit better than the opposition.

Sunday, 7:45 PM: FC Porto - Estrela da Amadora (Superliga 1st round)

We're obvious favourites as Amadora just got promoted. Leandro is injured and Nuno Valente can't play as he is involved in controversy as the club wants him to leave the national team. So our left back is.. Csar Peixoto, who has been adapted to this position in the last few matches with good results.

Most likely 11:

code:
McCarthy Lisandro Diego Jorginho Lucho Meireles Peixoto P.Emanuel R.Costa Sonkaya V.Baa

Posted by noikeee on Aug-21-2005 22:40:

1-0. got that starting 11 right except for an injured McCarthy who gave his place to Postiga.

wasn't the greatest of games, we struggled to create real chances until Ricardo Costa finally scored in a corner at the 58th minute. still, the win was clearly deserved. Peixoto was the man of the match for me, he did some excellent crosses.

Today: Naval - FC Porto

Naval is another promoted team, in their first participation ever in the Superleague. However they surprised everyone in the first match by beating Guimares 2-0 away, even with 3 players sent off!!! Still I believe Porto will win it easily. After all, those 3 players will be suspended.

Champions League draw: Inter, Rangers and Artmedia.

In theory, Inter will win it, and we'll fight for 2nd place with Rangers. Still, I believe we're stronger than Rangers and with some luck could surprise Inter. Calendar for Group H:

Rangers 13/09 Porto
Artmedia 13/09 Internazionale
Internazionale 28/09 Rangers
Porto 28/09 Artmedia
Porto 19/10 Internazionale
Rangers 19/10 Artmedia
Internazionale 01/11 Porto
Artmedia 01/11 Rangers
Porto 23/11 Rangers
Internazionale 23/11 Artmedia
Rangers 06/12 Internazionale
Artmedia 06/12 Porto

Posted by noikeee on Sep-10-2005 12:39:

We won Naval 3-2. 2 goals by Cesar Peixoto, who got to score an own goal as well , and one by Hugo Almeida.

Tonight: FC Porto - Rio Ave, 7:30 pm (GMT)

Our latest signing isn't called for the match. The guy is some unknown slovakian left-back called Marek Cech. Hopefully good since the only other left-back we have know is Peixoto who still hasn't proven himself defensively. Leandro seems to have been loaned back to some brazilian team already (why do we keep on signing dodgy players to loan them back a couple months afterwards, even if they're 26 year old? that doesn't make sense at all )

6 posts in a row all with different stuff in them must be a new TA record

your opponents for tuesday, rangers, are in shocking form just now. They couldn't even beat mighty falkirk yesterday. And this is the team that had "champons league potential" according to their fans.

I really hope you hammer them.

results:

fuck.. i can't believe how unlucky we were, we had twice the chances they had.. Baa was quite naive on the 2nd goal but still it appears Prso made a foul there.

Our defence is really shit at the moment - the centre-backs are ok at best (except for Pepe , he's awful tho had the game of his life scoring both goals), the keeper is good but fucks up ocasionally, and the biggest problem is with the fullbacks:

left - Cesar Peixoto is being awesome in attack, with some excellent crosses, however he seems dodgy in defence, which isn't surprising since he's only made about 6 or 7 games in this position in his entire career. The only other option is the totally unknown Cech.

right - Sonkaya seems pretty bad. The only other choice is Bosingwa, who is currently injured and plays better in midfield. Putting Pepe on this position was a completely crazy idea.

Sp. Braga 0 FC Porto 0
FC Porto 2 Belenenses 0
FC Porto 2 Artmedia 3

Our attack is amazing, our defence is retarded. Again. Co Adriaanse is getting a lot of shit now for being too offensive, but I think the biggest problem in this game was the quality and not the amount of defenders. Ibson, the back 4 and the keeper were really fucking awful.

We atleast did better than Celtic tho

Does someone need a hug and a poster of Mourinho's champions league winning team.

You might want a poster of Inter's 1989 squad or whenever it was you guys won a national title last time.. not to mention a Champions League

Touche but you can bet that any Inter side from 89 on would've won every single title in your pathetic league

Maybe not against the Jardel+Zahovic+Drulovic trio, or against the Mourinho squad, but who cares. I don't support Porto for it being the world's strongest side, of course there are squads who'd beat us anytime. If you support Inter for being better than all the portuguese sides then I suggest you start supporting Chelski, they're the strongest in the world right now.

You take the best side of Inter's in the last 15 and put it agains that trio or Mourinho and you have lost. I dont support Inter for that and they have never been the world's strongest side. Im just proving my point that Porto's "golden years" of the recent Mourinho year are long over. I like Porto but they dont have it this year or for years to come unless the rebuild again. Thats just my distant observation.

Martimo 2 FC Porto 2.. bleh, the 1st half was terrible. Still leading the table tho, but Nacional now has the same number of points. Sporting lost 3-0 in Paos de Ferreira

Next matches:

Saturday 15 October : FC Porto-Benfica
Wednesday 19 October : FC Porto-Inter

The big tests are coming.. that's two massive games.

9PM tonight folks.. the first classic of the season

Probable teams according to "a bola":

FC PORTO Vtor Baa; Bosingwa, Bruno Alves, Ricardo Costa e Csar Peixoto; Lucho, Diego e Ibson; Lisandro, McCarthy e Jorginho.

BENFICA Quim; Nlson, Luiso, Ricardo Rocha e Lo; Karagounis, Petit e Manuel Fernandes; Nuno Gomes, Miccoli e Simo.

I'm a bit scared to see Adriaanse leaving Pedro Emanuel on the stands to play Bruno Alves in the first 11

Posted by Eddie N MIAMI on Oct-15-2005 15:11:

cool I wanna see Benfica win
