i liked both the new Paragliders and the new one with DJ Preach. But I think he still got loads more to give. We all know that.

regarding Ricky Smith its fucking time for J00F to get the DB album out now.
Its a fuckin joke that Karma isnt out yet.

I've lashed up another thread about it on the J00f board. We'll see if John will give more infos.

I've always considered Karma and his remake of Point Zero to be his best productions. Karma, especially, which is very groovy...I was overjoyed when I heard him spin it live @ Arc 2 years back or so, all hammered and dancing my tits off.

I haven't listened to any new trance since 2003... from what I know it seems bland, bland, bland. The house scene is putting out some good stuff, though.

Are there any new artists that look promising? I hope there will be an artist to blow up and shed his/her talent on the trance scene.

There have been good tracks, but they are just more difficult to find due to the amount of shite that has been produced as well

There are still some great trance tunes I enjoy every year, not so many unfortunately and it's a waste of time to find which ones

Posted by Light The Fuse on Jul-28-2005 09:38:

i think its been the same as every other year..some good, some bad and some surprises.

Posted by Rick D on Jul-28-2005 10:05:

a few good tunes this year, not as good as last year IMO though,

tracks like, summer dream, in silence, just for a day, am2pm, children of the sun done it for me last year

Orkan - Shibuya

Oh and i'm waiting for Ferry Corsten's remix of BT - The Force Of Gravity, his own production I Love You,the new tune from Mike Foyle (can't remember now the name) and some more tunes. So far this is a great year for me.

To be honest I haven't been into trance too much this year. The only exposure I've had to "trance" is the 2 or 3 times I turned on ASOT. It fucking sucked. Armin can do so much better than spinning the crap that 16 year olds produce on their pirate copies of Reason, Fruity Loops, Cubase, and Logic.

...2004 Didn't suck.

Anyway, 2005 has yeilded some good tracks thus far, a lot of variation as well. Lots of good emotional melodies and some very groove filled electro-y songs too. So far so good IMO.

Last year was a great year for trance, Anjunabeats owned, but this year I've just felt it was a pale comparison. I've heard some interesting stuff from Somatic sense... Hydroid in particular. Some of the stuff on J00F has been kewl too.

others that stick out as memorable...

Jose Amnesia - The Eternal
PheonixStar - The Example 60
Johnson & Corbet - Exalavator
Radiate - Faraway Project

As for Psy, its been on the up and up...

Productions by the Misted Muppets, Broken Toy, Sirruis Isness, Psysex have all blown me away.

The new Wizzy Noise Album - Techno psy at its best, such an original dark sound from these guys.

Electro Sun's album... best fucking album ev0r. Mainstream trance producers could learn a lot from this guys style of music. This guy is defining a new genre of trance I think. Uplifting but without the supersaws

Track of the year so far: Black and White - 'Myladylay'
