Good Lord. John is spinning at 1015 the very next day. Another double header for the JOOF brothers.

They close at 4...

Dude....Redbull ? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot ?!

You're not planning on driving are you ? Just get a flight . Trust me, you're not going to want to drive after JOOF's set. Myself and St Michael drove to Vegas immediately after leaving 1015 a couple of months back and it was absolutely surreal.

Posted by DaveT on Aug-05-2005 07:57:

Don't tell him that!!! He's our ride down to this event!!! If he decides to fly, we're screwed!!!!

Anyhow, it's easy. stay until 4am, get back to wherever he is staying by 5 at the latest, crash, get up at 11am or noon, and leave an hour after waking up and get back to his placeby, 5pm-6pm, 7pm. then if he needed, then powernap befor heading back out.

Doing back-to-backs between SF and LA then back all by car isn't too difficult.

Actually feel dealing with flying down to LA then back to SF/OAK to be kinda harsh because you have to make sure to be on time everywhere.

Posted by Hypersky on Aug-05-2005 20:03:

Well Dave, thats assuming one is sober. Its not that easy driving for 6 hours (or 9 in the case of Vegas) following a night of fun in the sun.

I was thinking more like leave LA around 4, get back around 10, crash, get up around 8-9, get ready and go out all over again. Maybe that sounds like a better idea in my head than out loud

Posted by Hypersky on Aug-05-2005 20:56:

Sounds like a better plan since you wont hit traffic out of LA at that hour.

Posted by R!CH on Aug-05-2005 21:12:

That's what I was thinkin but how awake would I be around 7? 8? 9?

Posted by Hypersky on Aug-05-2005 21:15:

Best thing to do is to hit the road immediately. Once you get over the hills it should be dawn and its flat road from there on out. Loads of coffee / caffeine as well etc.

I'll probably fly up...hopefully with John.

First make sure you have a bottle of caffiene (no-doz, vivarin, generic shit, whatever)...and hold on to it...

If you are still good and alive when you are done at Circus, start back to SF....

Right when you hit the grapevine there is an exit with a Starbucks. Guessing should be about 5:30, 6:00 at this point. I am sure it's open then. I recommend a venti caramel frap, no whip, with four shots. It works pretty damn well. Drink that, then about 30 minute laters pop-in a caffiene tablet. If you don't feel anything in the next 30-45, pop another...and I guarantee you will be all good. Should be enough to make you good and awake....and this is my habit when driving tired between LA and SF....you are lighter than me so you probably have an easier time being effected by the caffiene.

You could just overload on caffiene tablets but trying to make you all jittery and stuff.

Now only if ephedrin was still available...just tell you to buy some like Stacker 2 or mini-thins and pop one or two of those and you'd be all good too :-p

Or if you just want to do it the nice, good way....go to your doctor, say you are suffering from apnea and falling asleep at work. Say someone in your family also has the issue and that modafinil (brand name: ProVigil) has helped him out quite a bit. Basically, it'll keep you up another 6-8 hours with no issues, no side effects...and it's so good, that you can sleep like 4-6 hours after you take it and when you wake up you are completely refreshed...I'll get the name of it. :-p

Dave

I drove back from the New Years Day show immediate after leaving 1015....without caffeine or anything other than the joy of seing JOOF.

Posted by Koolaid74 on Aug-05-2005 22:04:

I would leave as early as I can with enough rest. Leaving LA at 4PM wouldn't guarantee no traffic... but then again, I guess there will be traffic at any time of the day or else it wouldn't be LA.

Sounds like you guys have a great weekend ahead of you, then. I guess if I don't check out J00F at ten15, then it would be a slap in the face of such die-hard J00F fans like you guys. haha

See you guys there.

lol. If you really want to scare some people then play SBK ' Nightfly' and then have it lead into The Alex Stealthy mix of Narayana. They'll be having nightmares falling asleep.
