I'm a big armin fan, and I must say Shivers is by far his worst.

Seven Cities was an embarrassment. It signaled his rapid fall of production standards in late 2002, from which he never recovered. Most TAs loved Armin through the beginning of 2002. His work from 2001 was solid and refreshing, and came at a time when everyone thought epic was doomed from the fallout of 2000. That he would follow such fine production with so bland and standard a remix, for so great an original, finally turned the Armin tide. Sadly, it was only a sign of things to come.

Shivers isn't his worst. I hold that title for Burned With Desire. In the larger scheme of things it isn't an awful track at all; but for Armin, it's a pathetic waste of talent.

Why does everyone hate this track so much? its like many people hate it with such passion. i thought it wasnt bad, but not his best either. his best original track would probably be Yet Another Day, in my opinion, and his remix of airscape L'Esperanza.

i think armin hasnt improved too much on his production, but he is still good, to me at least. serenity was cool at first but then it sounded like tiesto's adagio for strings, losing cool points for armin, but i still think he kicks ass.

I think alot of people who supported Armin through the years including me. We who saw him rise from anonymity to a super star dj and we who heard his wonderful productions such as Future Funland, 4 Elements, Clear Blue Moon, Blue Fear etc got really disapointed at his newer stuff. We know how talented he is and what stuff he can create. But when he puts out crap like Shiver or Serenity its for me a mystery.

On topic, I prefer the Elevation remix.

I pretty much only like the Alex Morph Dub...

The main vocals in the track are just horrible. They just don't sound good.

What hurts is that there are small snippets (both vocally and musically) in the soung that do sound great and if the song was just built more around those snippets, the track could be sooooooo much better. Alex Morph seemed to focus heavily on the parts I liked in the original version which is why is why I prefer his far and above the original or any other remixes.

You are a jack ass. Go educate yourself: www.discogs.com

Search for Armin + aliases pre 2001 and download away.

Alex M.O.R.P.H. Dub is okay.

totally agree even if Dido remix comes close second.

By the way i am surprised to see all those bad words on Shivers track, i like it, cool and entertaining track, sure he made better, but not bad, there are a lot of worse tracks come on...

The "jackass" comment was clearly directed at his rating of "Shivers" as "Armin's best track ever". When you're saying such a thing you clearly have no clue about his previous productions.

Learn to read properly before making statements like this. Otherwise it will end up making you look the 'not so bright one,' like now for example.

i read it, of course it's not the best Armin track, but calling the guy jackass is a bit too much isn't it?

Of course you didn't read it properly. Otherwise you wouldn't have said this:

I quite clearly didn't say that at all. Therefore you are wrong.

I havn't got a clue what you are going on about here. Perhaps you should learn to be more coherent too?

Posted by Laughingfennec on Aug-03-2005 16:50:

i edited my post as i read again what you wrote, and removed the second sentence.

anyway jackass was too much, no doubt, he should check out Dido remix, Devotion remix, communication...anyway taste differ.

I like the Hammer & Bennet Remix as well as the Elevation remix the most.

Neither. I think "Shivers" is shite but if one of those came up in a set I would be hoping it was one of the Alex MORPH remixes.

I prefer "Serenity" though. Interesting that I can't find a copy of "Serenity" in my local Virgin Megastore - - but "Shivers" is in the discount section there at 3 for 10.

We all are entitled to our opinions, what bothers me most is how those of you who're demeaning me by saying stuff about how this track is pathetic....keep in mind not everyone likes the same things, different sounds, compilations and tone arrangements appeal to different people with different personalites..its much like the Rorschach Inkblot Test...everyone sees something different in the same picture.

They say trance is one of the most emotional musical genres out there, and I most certainly agree.

I like all of the shivers tracks, and personally, the vocals might not be the best, but the piano and melody simply amazes me.

Feel free to throw in a rebuttle.
