I was thinking the same thing about the Mets and Yanks concerning the upcoming baseball season; it seemed like it was either the Yanks or Mets on ESPN wheeling and dealing. They scared the other teams away!

what on earth are you talking about? you've never seen those great leaping catches by griffey or behind the back catches by edmonds? how about the play at the plate? stealing bases? baseball is as much a contact sport as any other. its just that it has a slower pace to it. they get paid more cuz they have a 162 game schedule. of course having said all that, i do agree with you that their salaries are ridiculously massive.

yes i agree with most of your comments...sport these days isn't sport its entertain...its all about money..are you guys forgetting boxing...take evander holyfield or mike tyson, when these guys were top of the line boxer's, they got usually paid about $20-$30 mln for 1 fight and ya why is schumacher making so much money? wtf..37 mln per year, and what does he actually do? drive around a fast car making 120 laps around the track and win the race hehe how entertaining is that? might be entertaining when your actually seeing it live, but watching it puts you to sleep

Im going to see a Formula One race in September and I have no problem paying $200. F1 drivers make so much because hundreds of thousands of fans fill up the stands. Those cars out there are the most technologically advanced vehicles in the world. I dont wanna have to bore you by explaining to you where all the money goes but F1 is unique when it comes to sports.

Here's a question for you, If you were one of the top athletes in your sport and some guy who isnt nearly as good as you is making more money then you, would you challenge that? I definetly would.

Athletes make millions simply because they can. Enough said.

almost every superstar from baseball is overpaid. fookin 20 mil per season for chewin tabacco and joggin thru the bases. no way

When you consider that doctors and smart people are the ones who deserve to be paid highest, partly because of the contribution they make to society, and also because of their intellect, you would have to say that the most overpaid athlete ever, is also the dumbest.

Mike Tyson

If you worked out the amount of money an athlete earned per IQ point, this guy makes 10s of millions for each point of IQ. The guy is too stupid to know how to spend the money he gets....and has been close to bankruptcy on some occasions, despite making up to $25M per fight (or more). Through in a rape charge, and numerous assaults. Am I In the wrong profession or what.

If you wanna strike it big, entertainment is the way to go, but less taht 1% of the population will get into entertainment, (movies) or (sports)
late

yeah, but it doesn't matter what kind of skills such players have, it does not EQUAL the amount they're paid. Any skilled player in any sport will eventually be replaced by just as skilled or better. there are only a few exceptions.. But still.. The salaries is beyond ludicrous.. There's so much suffering in the world, thousands sof children die everyday, and here I see some friggin pansy baseball player spraining his pinkie and out for a season on a 10 mill contract per year..

The math bites lemons..
