sort of off topic, but i'd say that mighty and mezzanine are the best clubs in sf...the crowds are always really good and not full of the rude bridge and tunnel crowds that ruby skye is so infamous for..or the agro thugged out asian crowds at 1015.

blasthaus.com does wicked events at mezzanine that are always packed and everyone is there for the music, and every time i have been to mighty it has been awesome. the only good stuff at 1015 seems to be the "get freaky" parties - the ones that dave loves so much...hehe

btw, i was at mighty on friday and ran into josh gabriel...he knows his clubs i guess....awesome night too.

I saw that guy get thrown out. The way security swarmed, I assumed he either had a weapon or was dealing. But that was for ass grabbing? Geez, talk about strict.

security was all over the place last night. though i am glad there was at least one less ass grabber in there.

i had no plans on going anywhere last night, as i was scheduled to work from 10 pm - 6 am. but i got to work at 11 and found that there was little for me to do so on a whim i decided i should go dancing. i had never heard of second sun and i dont think i have been to a club to hear trance in over 2 years... but i had a great time. i only saw a half hour of their set but i was impressed. i also liked gianni afterwards.

i just wish the floors in 1015 arent concrete cause my back hurts too much today.

actually i went to ULTRA FEST 7 in Miami (cuz i live there) and they were good. Not to mention Tiesto, Paul Van Dyke, Ferry Corsten, Christopher Lawrence, Paul Oakenfold....I thought PVD did a pretty damn good close out for ULTRA. Was there from 12:00pm to 12:00am. It was the best damn show that i have ever been to.

I was at Ultra 7, had a blast, went to the after party then hop on the plane back to home right after. It was some crazy party week that I spent there. Also got the 3 day pass to Space/Spin, of course Space sucks cause they over sold extremely where people who paid, waited for hours and hours till couldn't get in to see Tiesto. But over all it was an awesome time and great experience.

Interesting part of the night: When Second Sun was first coming on, my girlfriend and I started walking through the middle of the room up near the stage to take some pics...on the way, some dude grabbed my girls booty with force and I happened to see it and just about twisted the dude's arm off...he was all apologetic so I just got back into the music...about 10-15 minutes later, he did it to a girl next to us and she actually went and got security....two security guys came and I pointed out (repeat, pointed) that the guy did it to my girl, too....whelp, wrong thing to point at the dude because the security guy immediately locked my arm up in his...didn't hurt, but effective and never got mad over it -- he was just doing his job and protecting everyone. But after talking to him for a about 15 secs, was let go and about 10 more security dudes came up and kicked that ****** out with force, lol. All of his friends wanted to jump me, I could tell, so we retreated back up to the booth where we enjoy the rest of the night. In the end, I must say that the Ten15 security did an excellent job over this and must thank them!

Great story. It's because of guys like that, the girl:guy ratio is low at clubs. Good job helping hiom to the door.

Ahh, so you were the opener. I was wondering about that... you put together a GREAT set too!

Awesome pics too btw!

tracklist?

weird, either adam had a face surgery or that was someone else

Posted by TheMETHOD on Aug-09-2005 03:42:

oh yea, big thanks to Mark Rahmani of MV Galleries for the great pictures!

the set was on the fly, so no tracklist, sorry... I had a minidisc there to record it but all the mixer outputs were being used and I didn't have a splitter

ah well, you had to be there live to get the full effect anyway, nothing compares to slammin trance on that massive EAW sound system at 1015!

First, is the sound system still all EAW? I don't recognize speakers that put in the corners as EAW, but I could be wrong...they are bare faced.

Second, the sound Saturday night was LOUUUDDDD!! I haven't heard it that loud there in a long, long time. For two or three years, in fact...this is later in the night when they cranked it up during Gianni's stellar set. It was nice, I must say.

Third, I'm afraid to complain to anyone at Ten15 these days...so could you tell them the sound needs to be rebalanced? It's definitely out of balance...could be because the speakers in the back corner are twice as big as the ones in the front plus all the subs under the stage...but yeah, the system is out of balance -- mainly with the bass where there are some spots that it just doesn't exist (ie. front and center of the room). Just have noticed it bigtime the last few times I've been at Ten15. It's tuned pretty well, though....I'll give it that. Nice and crisp.
