to be fair thats a good top 100 as is grimmy's, but i just have no idea how i would conduct one of my own. For a start i would have hugely different variated ones for "clubbing" tunes and "listening at home" tunes. As clubbing tunes are all related to memories and the atmosphere whereas listening at home its all about wot mood you are in. Plus thats just limiting it all to EDM, on top of that that there is a ridiculously wide spectrum of other music i listen to that would mean that not even if i spent the next 20 years compiling a list of my fav tunes i would not get anywhere near wot would refelected me as a musical person.

Don't be so serious about this. I doubt you'll get sentenced for life if you post 100 EDM related tunes of your choice without 20 years of thinking.. 100 tunes isn't much to reflect one as a musical person and my list doesn't do that either but just shows an excerpt of what sort of beeps and bleeps gets played in my record players. It doesn't matter whether the tunes are clubbin' or homelistenin' as long as you think they are good. List tunes you think are good enough for you not to get bored too soon and which you also can play several times without an urge to smash up the record afterwards.

I think that's a pretty solid list, and I think quite a few of those would make it into mine too. I can't believe people are actually making posts like "zomg! where's airwave!!211one" though.

I might try and put together a list of some of my favourites in any order, but I think ranking them makes it a little bit harder and challening. Great post though.

Yeh i know ranking them would have been "better" but now i'm not really feeling to put that much effort to the list.. this is fine for now. Maybe i'll do rank them up later.

i didn't say the original was trance..but it is EDM. and the remixes are better..but i still like the original.

i've done my top 100 before, it's somewhere in a thread made by Cobalt i think, where many people posted their top 100 too. but it's a pointless effort. nowadays i'm too confused about my music tastes, and it's a pointless task re-compiling it - as i don't have near enough knowledge of the history of my favourite (sub)genres nowadays, and i don't even know if i really stopped liking half of that list.

My Top 100 thread has been preempted! Sadness!

Maybe it serves me right since I've been meaning to revise mine for some time now, and took it down until I sorted out a new list. I kept putting it off as I sorted through old production and found previously overlooked material. But I should probably accept that my favorites will always grow and change with time and knowledge, so I might as well go with it.

I've got to pick up some enthusiasm!

Actually, enthusiasm has a whole lot less to do with it than free time. No free time this summer at all -- but that shall soon change!

Great list, System-J. It's fascinating to see how a top 100 reflects the taste and style of a person, and yours is a class example.

The KLF is gonna rock ya! Though their late-80s acid house pseudo-trance will rock you the most.

The Hardtrance Acperience EP was released in 1992.

Cheers. And absolutley, I think For Her is a fantastic piece of music! Plus it has some great memories attatched to it, like hearing it live at the very last Casino for example. It does need to be played with a bit of speed though.
