Originally posted by zag2me That set is in my "alltime great" directory of live sets, its not usually the songs dj play, its the atmosphere and the crowd reaction that really make a great night. And I was sitting at home listening to that one on galaxy thinking, wish i was there.

. loved it at the time, though i probably wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much if he played a similar set again. it's probably all down to the atmosphere though
Well yea that's true I suppose. I had heard every track he played that night countless times in the past so it was really nothing special to me.
i thought armin played the best trance set of the night that year, only one of two times ive seen armin live and actually thoroughly enjoyed it
Loveparade - LovefromAbove 2002

Originally posted by DRM Most of us have been on here a long while and im sure we all feel like we have seen all we need to see by now (bar a few exceptions of course) but after a couple of conversions ive had recently i was wondering wot u best clubbing moments were. For me theres been two that really stand out : Mauro Picotto @ NEC April 2002, This was the first time i had met anyone off the board plus first night i had been "proper" clubbing. was a great night all the way through and met some amazing people, plus it was also the first time i had done any drugs. I remember asking ste for some and he said have a half for now and at some point i got a little bit of speed too. Basically that equaled me being fucking ruined! And then i remember Picotto playing Athos - Oh My God, ive always been a bit of a picotto fan especially back in these days. Bout halfway through his set this random South Park sample came on for this tune and at the time i was off my tits and i remember they had some random cartoon on the big screen behind the dj which i remember thinking, what a min thats not fucking south park so why the fuck can i hear it! So im standing there looking around at the 10,000 or wotever people in the room trying to comprehend wot the fuck was going on when the south park sample said "dude what the fuck is wrong with german people" and at the point the beat kicked back in and everyone in the entire arena cheered and i suddenly realised where i was and it was amazing! Best thing about this was it was recorded on the radio and i still have the set now and when it kicks back in and every1 cheers it still gives me chills down my spine now! The other moment that sticks in my mind was at Godskitchen @ Telewest Arena 2003 (I Think) : It hadnt been the greatest night out i had been on most of night but was still very enjoyable, if i remember rightly i was out with Luke, Gibbo and Ste. Overall the night was good, nothing great but one moment stood out to me and even now just gives me goosepimps thinking about it. Tiesto had been on and been good to be fair, Ste had a sign for him to play Urban Train which he complied to (Cosmic Gate Remix if i remember rightly???) was mint, and then Armin came on and i think it was quite early in his set we decided we were a little tired so went to sit on the chairs around the side of the arena. So we were sitting down around the side of this HUGE arean with some amazing acoustics enjoying what was going on when he dropped Nitromethane - Time To Die (Seraque Remix) which is one of my fav clubbing tunes ever and as i looked across the 10's of thousands of people out there waving their glowsticks and with the lights going mental it was the most amazing sights i had seen! anyway thats enough reminiscing from me how about u lot, wot have been ur greatest clubbing moments?
Mine was when i was 16 and got a fake ID and went to Godskitchen in the Kings hall in belfast on Boxing night.. how i managed to get the bouncers to believe that the ID was real, i'll never know...
but got in and an hour or two into the night Lisa Lashes and Judge Jules had been on and someone had handed me a pill, which i'd never taken anything like that before.. so i banged it into me and Ferry Corsten came on as i was coming up.. it was unbelievable..
then not so long ago at Gatecrasher in the Kings hall belfast, Agnelli and Nelson playing Loops & Things and mixing straight into a newer mix of Rank 1 - airwave... beautiful.
Hearing Oakenfold play
Piledriver(greyed out mix). Me mixed it in really early, and i heard it coming.
I started getting all excited and singing early, then when i broke in, i was singing as loud as the music. I swear everybody heard me. Too amazing for words
there have been so many special moments and good nights for so many reason and with so many different people it is hard to name just one, but i think all in all the gatecrasher 7th (i think, in sept 2002) birthday was probably the best night ive ever had, even though jules and fergie spoilt a few hours in the middle it was still great and the end with scott bond and matt hardwick, both at the time were two of my favourite djs, especially scott, playing some of my old faves like atlanta 020202 and drunk in chicago. it was also the first time i met harriet, so enough said really!

Originally posted by isoterra shit, right you are. i'd forgotten about that that would have been the low point at any rate. i thought the rest of it was decent; solid blend of uplifting trance and driving techy numbers, many of which i hadn't heard before, as i remember it. few classics mixed in as well. this year he just seemed to rinse his own productions & this years most overplayed asot tunes (not that i listen to asot but they were certainly overplayed).. and finished on that godawful nirvana bootleg
My best clubbing moment was The Garden Of Eden back in '93.
It was held in Milton Keynes(somewhere) in a massive warehouse.
I remember walking into the reception area, then walking through one of several sets of double doors to come out into a massive area, kitted out as a landscape garden, complete with trees and tree house type platforms, bushs and all manner of plants, with lights and Lasers coming out of the foliage. Also, 60k Turbo Sound system!
An awesome night had!!!!
Hard question as would say probably Gatecrasher NEC Oct 2001 however the Glade this year was amazing and Global was way better than previous years.
Gatecrasher NEC tho was unbelievable remember staying in the seats at the back all night as 15000 people all wanted to be in the one arena it was so crammed but the atmosphere that night was awesome. The lasers were prob the best I have seen at an event and that was 4 years ago! Oakenfold played a great set that night but PVD absolutely smashed it with most of his tunes from the Politics of Dancing album. When he played For an Angel it was absolutley amazing - will never forget the rush and joy on my face was like total heaven. Anyone got a tracklisting for it?
hmmmm....
Anybody who remembers the Courtyard will know what I'm talking about!!! (or even the annexe before that!) Without question, Oakey's residency was more than special.
Tiesto, Gatecrasher april 2001 (the one the reveloution CD was based upon) great night. That was the defining Tiesto moment.
Other than that, Creamfields last weekend has to go down as one of the most comlete nights out ever in more than 10 years of cluubing. It had everything for me. Faithless were great, Armin, Oakey, PvD & Ferry all played great sets as well as nipping in to see great things by Fatboy Slim, 2manyDJ;s and more. And a full house to boot. Bring on next year. The only way they could top it is to get Prodigy Live on the outdoor stage!!!!
