Methinks you have no idea what rhythm means.

But there's that guy from Tilt, he's black. Hahahah.

Posted by Aquarian on Aug-11-2005 18:33:

Trance is not very rythmic. It's like classical music with a beat on top, but it's not really built into the beat, just made to fit it. House on the other hand, is very rythmic.

wow... how fucking ignorant & prejudice people can be, especially these days, continues to suprise me. you fucking suck at life

Posted by Kakoroto on Aug-11-2005 19:33:

Im black and ive been listening to Trance since I was 13...

Posted by DJ Cinos on Aug-11-2005 19:35:

OK... most trance isn't rhythmic. But try for example Juno Reactor! I'd imagine they are closest to trance of genres, and they're very rhythmic.

I SAID RACES AND CULTURES.

Now you're incorrect again, you have to remember one doesn't necessarily have to belong to a race to belong to a culture!

Ok, I'm tired.

I think people are mixing up rhythm with syncopation.

I think he meant to say that "white people" are more geared towards a "fixed rhythm" (for lack of a better term) and "black people" are more geared towards syncopated rhythm. Not that I necessarily agree, but to say that trance isn't rhythmic is kinda odd. Trance follows a very strict 4/4 beat. Melodies in trance are syncopated, but not the kick, which drives the beat.

jeeeeees.... I really think some of you guys need to relax.. some of the americans can only see black or white no in bewteen.
come on guy it was ment as a normal question, no harm ... there is good and bad.. but there's also something between those two.

I was just wondering why are there so few.. do most of them don't like it because of the melody??? because there are no drum/guitar/sax solo's in it...

a friend of mine is a drummer, but once in a while he likes trance.. but he actually only likes it when there is a good drum/bass in it.. so sometimes I have to explain to him, the meaning of those song, the feeling I get when hearing them...

for example: jasse from outta space-do what you want (infusion sky remix) he didn't like this, but when I explained the lyrics... he looked at it totally different and started to like it too....
so I just wanna hear a reason... why??? there must be some reason not many black people listen to trance???

Posted by Akridrot on Aug-11-2005 19:46:

This thread was destined for failure.

And Trance is rhythmic, you fucking cockworshippers.

Posted by Kaidreas on Aug-11-2005 19:47:

^said the dude with a smart quote from mellonhead

anyways 4 pages is not so bad.. i guess.. at least the've started discussing the fact trance is rythmic or not

its how you worded it dude.. you said "colored"

thats fucked up. try to be a little more 'politically correct'

Posted by DJ Cinos on Aug-11-2005 19:48:

Who cares anyway? I'm fine with it if black people call me colorless or uncolored or whatever.

Posted by Akridrot on Aug-11-2005 19:49:

Kaidreas, I simply don't understand how you could ask such an inane question.

Posted by david.michael on Aug-11-2005 19:49:

Dunno about the history of the word in your country, but in the US in the 60's it was used very often during the times of segregation, so it's not considered to be a terribly "good" word to use. Maybe that's part of the confusion.

Posted by Kaidreas on Aug-11-2005 19:50:

^how should I know what's political correct, I'm from belgium my language is dutch... what should I say then??? that's what I mean..? do you guys really think english is the only language???
