I meant live via sattelite and it's politicians(Bush, Arnold) and Celebrities(Martha, TOm Cruise) Robert Smigel does the voices to with his lips and teeth.
I lose it when that comes on!

Karim you are always so positive
I am down!!
Sounds like a great idea to meet people before hand!...its hard to become aquainted with the TA's when there is mad decibels of bass pounding in your ear at LOL!!
well actually i can have whatever attitude i want.
i have done two of these parties so far and i do know how much work goes into it.
i really don't think it is possible to do, sorry. i'm not trying to put down anyones ideas. i'm just telling you the truth.
whoever is interested in doing this please PM me and i will tell you exactly all the steps that have to be done to make this happen.
pre meets are best at places near the club (why don't we do one of the places on The Esplanade again) or at someone's house that already has all the equipment set up.
if you want to do a pre meet at the green room forget about the music and just make it a pre meet. that would be the easiest thing. you can always just bring a small stereo to play in the corner.
The Detroit crew is going to rent out the upper patio at Lago (1/2 mile walk from the Guv) on Sunday right before LoL. Come for drinks or food but all are welcome.
We're trying to get RSVP so we can anticipate how many will come but it's sure to be a good time - the place looks damn nice and the view over the water is sick!!!!

My roomie Jason is putting it together mostly and that's the deal.

That's a really cool idea Karim. I wasn't at Frankie's party...how far away is The Green Room from Guvy?

Or come to Lago and walk 1/2 mile to the Guv afterwards - no need to drive.
PUNK!!! :P
4 sure. The fact that you and your crew went through the effort to rent out that patio is big time. I was just stating that setting up music is not as big of a mission as some people might think.

Karim
Yes you're right Setting up and taking down isn't hard EXCEPT I dont think storing the equipment in the trunk of someones car overnight is a very good idea in downtown TO, and who would want to be responsible for that??. Marg is right in the fact that it would be a lot easier and just as fun to meet up somewhere with no hassel have some drinks, chill and go. i.e. where Kris is doing their pre thing.

| Bah? Are you kidding me? It's really quite easy to set up decks and a mixer. It's idiot proof. Can be done in less than 20. |

What is this Green Room that you speak of??? Wtf! how come i have never heard of it!!
I don't think gear would be a problem, i think a lot of people here including myself have a sweet DJ setup!

| Originally posted by StereoPrincess karim. do you have turn tables and CDJs? do you have a sound system? do you have a large vehicle? i never said that it was difficult to set up turntables and a mixer. but what are you going to play the sound out of, but it does take some coordination. all i want to say is that it is too much effort for minimal reward. some of the equipment has to be rented unless you have speakers, speaker stacks and a big bassbin lying around. not only that but the place isn't open on sundays to rent stuff so you have to go there on saturday. and it has to be returned before noon on monday. |
