I really like how he mentioned that someone with a $10000 set-up would be interested in this and because of this bars will be starting open i-pod nites. This thing is made for two purposes to fill Steve Job's pockets with more money and ruin Numark's cred in the DJ world even more.

Yeap. Gotta heart xenophobic control freaks like teh Jobz.
You have to have a certain thread of megalomania though to run a company as snotty as Apple. So I give him that. Just hope he doesn't try to create a dictatorship.

hey he has a billion dollar golden goose and he's squeezing every egg out of it. i think you and i would be doing the same thing if we were in the same situation.

personally i don't like the idea of plugging ipods into a proprietary mixer. at least have 1/8" line inputs for pete's sakes, so its more than just an oversized paper weight when ipods become obsolete...

a sidenote, why don't they use the profits from ipod and spend it on r&d for cooler-running notebooks? i'm burning my leghairs off...

oh yeah i forgot... they are...

they're switching to intel!!!

edit: oops, posted before i finished the video. please disregard

you kidding me? of course! when I was 8 my teacher asked me wanted I want to be one day and I said "God."

j/k, but man, i'd totally be making as much money as I could.

Kinda laughable actually if you keep in mind the thread about how the PPL in the UK are going to create new rules regarding the use of MP3...

Someone should send this guy a copy of them.

Cheers

the mixer should have it's own memory, it should be able to loas up one song at a time, into the memory....hell, it can even have a little hardrive. anythign cheap, that can store, like 7MB of information. even a something similiar to a little USB flashdrive could do the job.

so there is pitch control... gives it a bit of viability actually....

guys, you wanna know what's REALLY fucking stupid????

u can do the same thing with an ordinary mixer. As long as there's pitch control on the iPOD ur A OK... you could even do it with an ordinary mp3 player, assuming it had pitch control. the only real viability in this, is if u can control the ipod from the mixer, and be able to cue up at the right place in the track.

all u need to do is hook up each iPOD into a different channel of any ordinary mixer....

this is fucking stupid, and i'm not gonna stop bitching about the design, because really, it's nothing but clever marketing, for fuckign morons. If it had the memory idea i mentioned, then yeah, it COULD be a little viable, but i'd prefer my shitbox setup over it anyday

Now see if people were actually smart they would think things through. Now lets see, an iPod costs about 300$... 2 would be 600$ about the money you can pay for 2 technics on ebay that are used. Or for cheap CD Decks also on ebay used. Now the iDJ probably has an MSRP price of 300$ Together all that comes to around 900$ plus shipping and tax(for those who buy it face to face) Which may be around 950$ Tell me people could be smarter? 950$ is well enough for a starter DJ. Which is what these people who buy this must be.
