Vlad you soooo right about that Tiesto @ Cream set. Also PVD is branching into house.
Anyways Im the biggest hater of Jonathan Peters. You will never hear a good thing about him from my mouth or fingers(typing). I think he is the most over rated DJ. I hate DJ's that only can play in one location. Go outside of NYC and ask about JP. JP's fans are just retarted too I wont get into the specifics but they are mostly cracked up guidos(Im part italian)
Who cares about the demographic that he atracts. Every week for 8 years he packed clubs in NYC. I dont like him either as a DJ, but you cant knock his ability to bring a crowd.

| Originally posted by Vlad But you only know his new crowd, my understanding is that when he first emerged thru about 99-00, before guidoism hit like a storm, his crowds were just your average music lover. Also, he didnt play back than like he does now - what Ive heard is that he wasnt that much of a crackhead back than and spun some really amazing sets. What I think happened was once JP became famous in NYC, it went to his head - and he milked it to the very last second. He now realized that he doesnt have to do much to make people happy, and all he has to do is put his name on a billboard and people will come. |
Man Vlad i was in Switzerland in 99....i think.
Go story trinity. Oakie & JP are 2 grade A crackheads.

how does he have his head up his ass though
honestly how could u say that
he's been at the forefront on ny club scene for like 12 years maybe even more and he packs out places
I saw him at Laboom in Cancun 2 years back, nothing special, i will never pay to see him again.
The first time I heard JP was in 97... at SF. I have to admit, he rocked it back then. Always seemed to work the crowd into a frenzy. Crowd back then was a litle more diverse, not as many shirtless juiceheads. He did play alot of different styles of EDM, many I didnt care for, but he knows how to work a crowd, and in the end that's what it's all about. His music box is endless too... he was the first DJ I heard spin Binary Finary's 1998, and he used to drop shit like Madagascar(Ferry Mix) & Sound of Nature before anyone knew what it was. I wouldn't bother seeing him now... because the last time I heard him(99?), he was dropping too much NY diva vocal house crap. His main problem, besides all the drug rumors, is the fact that he is virtually unknown outside the east coast, Vegas & Cancun being exceptions... and that's where all his followers go anyways. So... he may not be your cup of tea, but he knows how to program a marathon set, and keep the dance floor packed.

Dude theres many more JP haters. I was thinkin this as I was driving to a family party an hour away and I think I hate the fan base he brings than his DJIng although I cant stand his releases or the way 1 track for 45 min as mentioned b4.
Haha, this thread reminds me of MTV's True Life: I'm a Clubber. And, even better, that crazy k head who was obsessed with JP was posting on this board for a while after that show aired.
He's also playing a 7hr in Chicago tonight.
ha mtv show was funny
