dj sammy.
In all seriousness, and no particular order yet, I'd say:
Richie Hawtin
Still on fire DJ-wise, played an awesome set at Extrema, tough, spacy, just the way I like it. I'm not too fond of his minimal side though.
Stella Nutella
Never heard of her before Dance Valley, she played a 4,5 hour set where she was only scheduled for 1,5, and she got me interested in psytrance, where I almost never listened to that genre before DV. Too bad she only played in front of a full tent when it rained, the rest of the time it was only partly filled but atmosphere was great nonetheless. Besides that, when you play samples from 'Speedy J - Something for your mind' in the middle of a psy set, you're cool in my book
Grovskopa
I'm especially hooked on his live PA's, too bad I haven't seen him live yet but what I've heard from him this year is great. Amazing power, and able to play and produce not only the ultrahard offbeat techno but also the somewhat more subtle sort, which is what I like best.
Steve Bicknell
Saw him live at Awakenings this year, he put awesome energy in that set, mixing tight as hell (and I don't say that quickly) and capable of playing techno at a fast pace without letting it sound like Rush-type hardtechno. Too bad he's got the charisma and the energy of a flag pole behind the decks.
Christopher Lawrence
Just for the fact that he proved me there is still 'regular' trance out there I can enjoy (every now and then). Very nice set at Dance Valley.
Apart from Grovskopa I've seen them all live this year, which greatly influenced my choices. Quite a varied list methinks.

| Originally posted by Ian^ he seems to signify the typical british listener, who hasn't branched out yet. indications of this are his allegiance to "the judge" and his liking of people like gtr & tiesto. As he gets cooler, he'll start listening to more pete tong, probably add sasha & cattaneo in there, deep dish, and then become a house-whore like the majority of over 25s in the uk who believe that trance is just for kiddies. Failing this, he'll get over trance & join the tim westwood movement (Its like ab owel movement only much uglier) |
OMG someone voted for Judge Jules, Tiesto and/or Johan Gielen....biggest drama in EDM right now! Every TA knows you have to vote at least for OMGSasha!11one!! or Digweed!!one11!
My votes are as following:
1. James Zabiela (not exactly for the music, but his skills are off the hook, during his set at Dancevalley I was like
)
2. Kai Tracid
3. Paul van Dyk
4. DuMonde
5. Jesselyn
that voting just takes 1min of your life away, it's obviously that tie$t0r or avb biatchez are gonna win this again.

lol mikey mike isn't gonna get in the top 100 if you all put him at the bottom of your lists.
you need to put him number 1 as number 1 gets 5 points, 2 gets 4, 3 gets 3, 4 gets 2, 5 gets 1.

| Originally posted by Col The DJMag poll ruined Tiesto, and you're still gonna vote for him? If you really like the guy, do him a favour and DON'T VOTE FOR HIM. If he doesn't win, he'll realise he has to become good again if he wants to get back to the top. |

2. Steve Lawler - Ive just discovered how great are his sets
3. Nick Warren - he isnt as good as last year, but hes still good & play decent sets
4. Tiesto - I think this man shouldnt win the price this year, but I still like his music very much
5. Paul Oakenfold - because hes one of the best DJs ever
1. whoever wins the TA poll
2. hernan cattaneo
3. sasha

5. steve lawler/diggers - i havent made my mind up
1. whoever wins the TA poll
