Wow, check this track out. It's off Intelligent Toys 2 released on Sutemos. It's sort of ambient..but not by definition. Lovley piano and vocal samples. Excellent stuff. Click ]here to download it.
Yeah I know, it's made by lithuanian producer :]
hmmm
Wow, golden thread.
I recommend archive.org, specifically the two following pages:
http://www.archive.org/audio/netlabels.php
and
http://www.archive.org/audio/collec...pensource_audio
Oh good when the other thread got closed I was sad but now there's this so I'm happy again
Gonna be checking out a lot of stuff today

Anyway, to save the thread from a newb arguement, I'll say this.

Arturo en el Barco is a quality producer in various groups. She has some stuff out on a couple netlabels...worth listening to. She's sorta cute too...I think.
Uh oh.....

Holy St. Jude, lets attach yet another genre on the end of that.
My teeny licorice fly trap, are you here?
I've actually liked This track for a long time because it's so goofy.
Anyway, it's not netlabel stuff, and I wouldn't call it IDM or ambient, but i'd think Jacen Solo would fit into this thread nicely. You can hear his work on the flash player at http://www.airecords.com/
Specifically
1: The Nexus Chase

Yes I am Robot And Proud is really nice, i've some compilations with their tracks, they're great :>
I was just listening to some old Thinner releases I haven't heard in a while and I came across Rktic - Northen lights EP... damn that's some good shit
Yep, i've heard some good recommendations about that one, that's some good piece of techno, need to get it :>
I'm currently listening to this

So much music online it is impossible to keep up. But it does make for some interesting talk figuring out what other people are enjoying. I am still having trouble classifying the netlabel music, there is so much stuff.
I like alot of the demoscene tracks on scene.org, particularly the demovibes compilation by willbe. Poemtoahorse by RP owns me
Another one I like is this buzzer who calls himself "paniq"
(http://www.paniq.org) he has a bunch of his stuff hosted on scene.org as well.
I find TokyoDawn, Hellven and Statdgruen seem to be pretty entertaining, there are fun things to be found on kahvi as well.
I need links to places that stream netmusic, I also need compilations. I find that streams and compilations help take some of the guesswork out of finding good stuff. Blogs and podcasts and stuff just add to the confusion because everyone and their mother has a blog and most of them suck, but I will trudge my way though the ghey ass blogosphere if I have to, sigh.
Netlabels as a whole tend to surround only certain styles, those being minimal techo, melodic idm, ambient, dub, something called "microsound", its alot of chin-stroker type music. There are many exceptions but for some reason this it the type of stuff that is offered the most. They have ugly titles but that doesnt really reflect the way they sound very well. I haven't found much trance music or raggae on netlabels, there is a certain flavor of progressive that seems popular though.
Anyway, I like netlabels alot, it makes life more interesting because it seems that every person involved has a different collection and will almost certainly have some good stuff that other people are completely oblivious to. My collection is still mostly trance and DnB but I am a fiend for legal downloads.
Nice post sir, and yes it's impossible to have everything, so you have to take only what's good and what you really like. :>
Of course it's hard to do that, tho' I think it comes with time. :]
