Wha... Wha... What the fuck? The original version is one of the reasons I'm here. I hope to God that this isn't some shitty remake like the rest of what's out there this year. Having said that, I don't have high-hopes for this.

And for those mentioning a lack in creativity, I'll mention Lolo - Why. Xpander, Goddamnit.

I can see why he would remix his own tracks, maybe there was something that was lacking in the originals in his mind and he wanted to envision the tracks in a different direction/mood/style.

Yeh that different direction is not accepted by many that is the main point of many ppl in here...

Personally i still can see into l-vee's tracks quality but i know that many of the tracks have profitable purposes too among other

thanks for all your reactions, whether they're positive or negative.

I base my artistic behaviour on feelings, not on money, and the feelings guide me through life.

Yes, I've been cookin sumthin lately. Yes, I am really PROUD of it. And No, you cannot please everyone at the same time unless you sell out. And yes, I'm always pleased to see that finally, ppl react differently on some choices. That is human behaviour, which proves 1984 didn't let us cold. Mankind grows in its difference, and absolutely not in its so called manipulated democracy (you know what I mean, top 100 thing??). I'm proud that you have your own opinion, that is what makes our scene special and what keeps us alive. I'm absolutely okay with that! To sum it up, if there was only one thing I can be very proud of in this new adventure, well that is you all...

Remixing stuff ain't selling out for me, it's just a change in me that led here where I stand.

Just wait until the final info arrives, and you will see what it was all about. Just be a little more patient. It's on the way!

That is a damn shame when an artist can't take his own tracks in a different direction without 'the people' disapproving. You still have the original tracks don't you? If you don't like the new mixes that's fine, If Laurent wants to try something different with his older works, why not?

Hi man"!!

I agree with u...

If there are a producer I never thought produces music for money, this is L-VEE.
I know everybody is trying produce different sounds and melodies and its hard please everybody doing this...
The same applies to tiesto, armin and paul van dyk for example, there are tons of people that dont like their new stuff, like me: I prefer the oldies.

But it was trying so many aliases with different sounds that L-VEE made tons of classics and good tunes:

What about :
airwave - when things go wrong
airwave - above the sky
andain - summer calling (airwave progressive mix)
airwave vs rising star - sunspot
cloud 69 - sixty nine ways
fire and ice - out of darkness
v-one - dead cities
ultravibe - choose freedom
and tons of green martian, planisphere, capetown and bodyshock tunes...

capetown - cinema"!!!!!

And same with TONS OF CLASSICS, L-VEE dont became a POP STAR DJ/PRODUCER"!!!
Imo, is a cool and humble boy till today, and is an actiuve member at bonzaimusic.nu boards...

Well... thats my oppinion.
Am I wrong'???

Everybody hopes so that this is the case because the scene needs original producers making music only because they really want to express somethin..
another thing to say i believe that every negative comment has been expressed in this thread was in constructive way and not to embarasse or insult the artist

Good luck with everything..I 'll support

Can't wait for the new album, 3 CD's sounds very promising

Posted by leedearn on Sep-07-2005 14:44:

haha, all the people slating him,he is a million times more imaginative and creative than any other trance producer out there at the moment and he cannot and will not be touched in terms of the quality of his sound.
Just because he is making a 3cd album doesnt mean he is selling out, it means he has 3cd's worth of new quality material to share with people who love thought provoking, emotional trance music.

and as for lolo-why and sasha-xpander, have you actually listened to the tunes in question properly? because if you did you would see that they share only two bassline note movements. If you stop slating it for 1 second and actually listen to it properly you would realise what an awesome track it is.

Anyone his/her opinion is welcome, really, it's just a discussion we're having here. I try being as creative as I can on this topic, just sharing my humble point of view, and I am okay if some people don't like me or what I do, I never wanted them to like me anyway. You cannot please everyone. I just want people to respect me, end of story, and not you, I mean the dj's that owe us producers a lot for example!!

That thing with why and Xpander, bah, think what you want.

I just make things and don't think back, ever. If you think it's another clone of xpander, well good for you, I respect that, I won't argue about this, that would be senseless.

would you mind answering my questions i posted earlier on?

why was your first album edited so badly? why was the fire & ice album edited so badly? will we ever get any of your fabulous old track in full lenght on cd? if no, why not? i gotta say you're one of my favorite producers ever, but i HATE the fact that i have to settle for some crappy mp3s instead of buying legal good version on CD. i don't own a turntable and never will, so i won't buy anything on vinyl. i'd like to hear your reply to this one, thank you.

Posted by Lolo on Sep-07-2005 16:54:

well, until now we couldn't release everything on cd. Soon you'll be able to have the back catalogue of that full track stuff on itunes, and others, just be a little more patient, PLEASE!

but why did you put crappy 5min edits on cds instead of full lenght original mixes? your music hardly suits in 5min edit form IMO at least.

Posted by Subtle on Sep-07-2005 16:57:

it sounds a bit like Xpander, but there are things that sounds more the same, than those 2 particular tracks..

well, to fit more tracks ofcourse.. what u want? seven 10 minute tracks, or 12 tracks that are in somewhat different length? its an album, so having all full length tracks would be kinda boring, or repetetive, i cant remember seeing any album of any artists, that doesnt have some shorter tracks on the album..

yes. seven tracks would be fine. i hate to hear those horrible raped edit versions. they just sound so wrong! tisto's in my memory for example was a great album IMO. i think it only had one edited song and even that was over 9min on the cd (obsession that is, the original is around 12min i believe). i just don't see how progressive trance can be edited that much or any other trance really, because trance is pretty much always somewhat progressive and does not work in edit form.
