Actually insominate, they got rid of the bell curve ages ago. Now anyone can have the chance to get an OP1 (the best).

If you want to have fun and meet funky people, do an Arts course.
Arts students are the "coolest" people on campus.
Even better, live on campus too... and indulge in the sensual pleasures that are at close reach.

Im pretty sure ive said this before on here, but

cherish fucking high school, its so much better than university. More sociable, more fun, more friends, more partys. All the guys i was friends with in high school i still know, see, and i am friends with now. I have no uni friends, probably because i study computer science and most of them are unsociable nerds, they are more distant acquaintances. The last 6 months of high school, and the summer holidays after it, that was the best period of my life so far. So much fun. If had the option, id go back and do that all over again, it was awesome.

My TER was 86.25, which was good considering the school i went toand the amount of classes and days i skipped during the 4 weeks study time i had. It was more than enough to get me into the course im doing now and ill be done in 6 months. Where i imagine ill have even less fun that i do now.

in wa you end up being scaled by the school you go to (thats a general statement, but its pretty correct), if you go to school with dumb ****s, you get a lower score because they drag the average down, shitty public school = lower, posh uppity tie wearing school = higher

didn't they have the keg society at your uni? always a good way to break out of a nerdy course. As for people worried about any course they missed out on, i can only think of abou 5 people out of 50 in my clkass still working in that industry (mining). It's far from a totally life defining decision what you do next year. Enjoy 3 or 4 years at uni, it could be the best years you have. And if you're like one of my friends from school who got a TER of 98, and then discovered way too many drugs, it could be the best 11 years, even though he's still in 2nd year of accounting.

Well this thread confused the hell out of me for a page and a half, before I realised it was from 2 years ago :/

Respect to what others say though, that 4 digit number that is the culmination of 13 years of schooling really isn't that important in the overall scheme of things....

Remember that some of the most powerful and wealthy people in the world never graduated from uni/college, and some of them never even went!

The holidays after school finished were awesome... but Uni is actually alright... I've made heaps of friends at uni. I can almost always find a few people I know hanging around campus... which makes it very tempting to skip lectures and go for a few beers. But yeah... just a matter of being sociable and talking to anyone and everyone. Generally the only stressful/annoying time at uni is exams period

that's the only thing that counts.

Chin up lad! I'm sure t won't be that bad... I hear IT departments actually get quite friendly... Just thank god that you're not going into a bitchy, cut-throat competitive corporate job.

That sux... In Victoria the scaling system is pretty fair... at least it was when i did VCE... dunno what its like now.
